Re: Air Rifles
I saw some very real looking pistols on a stall on the market this am which apparently for bbs including steel ones and pellets. All semi automatic.and definitely look the part. As gnole said would be good for practice and would be, imo, effective as a bluff. Rather not risk the bluff side though if it was that or nowt...

Re: Air Rifles
Sadly "in the eyes of the law" that is likely to be seen as a level of premeditation, far better to use an item more likely to be found in the bedroom, unlike a guy called "Oldasrocks" in the US who has this little lot.the7ps wrote: Even the machete under the bed makes Mrs 7ps feel safer

So, what should we keep by our bedside that is an effective way to put an intruder down but won't fall into the "premeditated" trap?

Re: Air Rifles
Baseball bat with mitt and ball, full set of golf clubs in their bag, your weights with no weights on the bar (cos your a little ocd like that). You could get a set if heavy weight brass candlesticks as decorative items for your window sill. Of course you could store all your bushcraft gear under there...

Re: Air Rifles
I know i'm going to shake the legal bongo drums here but the machete stays under the bed. Plus, victim#1 who meets Mr machete will, in court, hear this " I keep the bugger under my bed in case some loonie tries to rob me".

Re: Air Rifles
No, not at all. I can quite honestly say that German law is not too different from UK law. My point is this...
"better to be tried by twelve than carried by six"
"better to be tried by twelve than carried by six"

Woops. I know what I meant. Erm... I weigh well over 100kg so 12 men might be needed?WhiteWolf wrote:I think you got that the wrong way round matethe7ps wrote:No, not at all. But wouldn't it be better to achieve the same result without having to go through the courts ?the7ps wrote:No, not at all. In fact, as a Military policeman, I can quite honestly say that German law is not too different from UK law. My point is this...

Thats what gnole is saying, use something that you have good reason to keep to hand rather than have something like a machette under the bed that would probably lead you to being prosecuted because it is premeditated. I'm sure there are plenty of alternatives.

Re: Air Rifles
I see your point and agree. However, Mr or Mrs 'X' are in my house, uninvited. We can ponder on the law all day, discuss if Tony Martin was right or wrong etc etc
