Breathe,

Take some time to relax, have a choccy or a glass of vino. Make time for yourself to get away from the World's ills and find some serenity for an hour or two.
Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.

My 15 year old has always been onboard with the prepping and is a real help to me. The 11 year old we will have the conversation with soon about saving energy etc but as she has sen it will be more difficult.

Mainly I just need then to stop eating all the food 🤣 although back to school/work Monday so thst will make it easier
when it comes to catastrophic events, we never know when the day before is the day before. So we prepare for tomorrow

Went through one food cupboard. I was intending to use dot stickers, but in the end I just put stuff with about a year near me on the floor, stuff with nearer to 2 years behind that, then put it back, longest life first, at the back. Anything less than a year went on the shelf above, which is for day to day use.

Rotation is a pita.once a shelf or box is full it becomes hard to put new stock at the back. If you find an effective I've way short of emptying the shelf, please share.
Definitely worth marking dates. I use a big marker pen to make bbe date conspicuous.
I've seen first in first out storage for tins that used lengths of gutter or downpipe.

Ordered a couple of paraffin heaters and started charging everything. Considering a solar generator or dual fuel but ££££££!
Sorted out the food cupboard.

Tried to get my batteries a bit more organised. Noted the dates for some of them, guessed some others from purchase date, and where they are located. Apparently NiMH rechargeables should be charged once a year. Was gonna buy some AAAs but decided I have enough for now, bearing in mind they don't last forever.
Ordered a few small bits and bobs, and a second hand copy of Hickey and King, botany glossary. The good thing about this book is half of it is drawings in order of appearance, so you can look things up by appearance and find out what it's called.

Nice, problem is they're all over the place by design. I have some by my bed. Some in various head torches and torches. Some in a shoulder bag on the bedroom door. Some in my bugout bag. And some in my long term bugout bag. And I didn't keep proper records when I started. Some batteries have a manufacture date on them. Some have a best before date on the packaging, but who keeps that? Some have no date in sight. And I don't want to waste any.
