Tonight I went through all my stores, gave them a good tidy and seperated the foods into a box for 2012/2013 expiry dates then one for 2014 on. I also added a couple more bits in the odd box.
I took a few photos to show the storage and contents to everyone but its saying the size of them (kb) is too big.

Having the skills, ability and resources to grow your own food is an important element of prepping. Try to consider how you might preserve some of your home grown stuff as well as you want to make it last as long as you can.
Good start though :D

Welcome Mr B, a good start looking in to growing your own. Our latest conquest's have failed due to the cold, all apart from some runner beans that are coming on nicely and the first signs of our mushrooms. I dont blame the rest that didnt prosper, it was -13 degrees, I considered giving up too!

this week I've sorted out most of my paper work, bought some pretty lever arch files for it all and put it into different files for :

Holidays I want to take Ideas
Days with the Daughter Ideas
Days out with Friends Ideas
Things I want to Make Ideas
Recipes I want to Try
and a couple more sub-dividers of those

its not really prepping, but something I've been meaning to do but never get around to it.

On the prep side, I bought some milton to disinfect the water bottles, did a couple of them, filled them up and have stored them away nicely for future use.

I also bought the loo paper on off at the co-op, 2 packs of 9 for £2,80 each

1) - Checked my kitchen first aid boxes - one is first aid, one is medicines. Checked dates of my micropur water pufification tabs and things like anti diarrheoa, anti hystamines and my paracetamol and pain killers. Rotated and threw out what needed to be and noted what extra I needed to buy.
2) - Checked my first aid stuff in rucksack and my handbag - found those latex free gloves I had been meaning to add to the kit!
3) - Made a notes of what wind up and solar battery charges I have and ordinary battery supplies we have. I now know what I need to order and buy in that area.

Well thats me for the week :)

It's been a recharging batteries day today. The Duracells took a while though the Eneloops were recharged in a jiffy (I recommend these!).
Over the weekend I'll be doing the leisure batteries, lanterns and torches.

I do all the above every 3 months.
