Yes, it's amazing some of the things that end up in charity shops!

This happened for months, so I tried Immunace, and since starting it (I take it daily, but it takes about a month to get 'into your system') the occasional cold I do get, only lasts about a day. I've really noticed a difference. And no, I don't have shares in them! :)
Thanks. Will check them out.

My next preps will probably be improving my distillation technology. and (finally) getting around to buying the stuff that i need for the next solar panel.

I joined my local credit union and set up a savings account with them. Better interest rate than a bank and less risky!

Just stocked up the food cupboard. Found some deals in Morrison's and got a deal on 3 x bacon grill and 2 x corned beef. Also stocked up on tinned fish and got a couple of tins of mixed vegetables from the 99p store.

The wife isn't convinced by prepping, so I've decided to do the 'boiling frog' on her, slowly building up reserves right under her nose in the kitchen cupboards... 8-)

I already convinced her to do a fortnightly shop (the fact it works out cheaper caught her interest), and we have a lot of overflow stuff in our extension, mostly non-food.

Just been to Aldi bought some seeds/seed potatoes/rubblesacks for the garden.

Bought a few '3 packs (of minced beef) for a tenner' from Asbo's - (1.5kg). Going to do a 'big' cook for the freezer.
My tip for the day: If you freeze meat (ie minced beef in packets) it wastes space in the freezer- because of all the packaging. So fry it with onions and chilli garlic/herbs etc and freeze as a 'concentrate'. When you feeeze it put the cooled meat/concentrate in marked/dated freezer bag back inside plastic tupperware container. After a day remove the container - a plastic bag on its own takes up (surprisingly quite a lot) less space than a tupperware box and its easier to store more for a given freezer volume.
The meat/onion/herb/garlic/ etc concentrate can be used as the baisis for a variety of easy / quick meals. Tomato/orregano/Italian herbs for a Bolly. Chilli/Kidney beans for a Chilli. A nice homemade gravy/ carrotts for a cottage pie.
So you ask: why not go the whole hog and make a complete bolognaise sauce? There is no point in freezing tinned tomatoes - to make a bolognaise sauce all you have to do is defrost the concentrate and add to a tin of tomatoes plus any veg that takes your fancy.

edit: Should have pointed out the bleedin' obvious. Divide the cooked concentrate into meal sized portions!
