Pretty much off the beaten track and although there is signage I would be inclined to remove them. However, I would need to take supplies etc.

How to do a Map shot

Goto Google map ,
Find your location ,
click on the LINK icon ( a little chain symbol ) to the left of the map ( by the print button )
, tick 'short URL' and then just copy and paste the abbreviated link.

as an example.

Hope that helps folks.

Not a bad place to live as long as you don't have any visitors wishing to do you a mischief.

Having woods all around lets intruders get very close unless you have ample security measures in place.

If there are marauding gangs looking for easy targets then it is possible this will attract them once you have a fire going and lights lit.

On a positive note, I would hazard a guess that they have shuttered windows, a well, and securable rooms inside, and of course plenty of fire wood out side. :D

I guess there are upsides and downsides to big Manor Houses and Castles although I think you would definitely need a group to make one viable. One thing a lot of the old castles had was escape tunnels and hidden passages that could help out a lot ...if you could find them.

I suppose the biggest downside to any property like that, or Burgh Island that I mentioned earlier, is that they are generally well known and prominent landmarks which would be a magnet to all sorts of people both good and bad

The interesting thing about Woodchester is that it is an unfinished building. Watertight but has never been lived in and never finished. I would hope that it would not bring 'gangs' towards it as there would be nothing to get/steal/plunder etc.
