I've finally managed to put up a curtain in my kitchen window. It could do with being flattened out from its "I'm a curtain" gathers at the top, to make it more of a blind. It isn't quite long enough, either, but I have a lot of edging material of various sorts in my stash, I could do that. There are hooks that were screwed in to the wooden surround to the window, and I've got a piece of very rough string/small rope as a curtain tie-back :lol: It's not on a curtain rail, just the tension rod for a net curtain, so it needs something like that.

So, I have (quite a lot of) privacy, and the start of cutting down my lighting profile from the outside. Very pleased, there've been about 5 steps to get to this stage.

You may not think it's a prep as such, but I won't be doing much during the winter months, to save money, so this was a bit of a no-brainer for me. I do have a Sky package/Netflix and Prime Movies but it's amazing how quickly you can run out of things to watch, even with a gazillion channels. :shock: :lol:
I wouldn't be without my DVD collection nor my CD collection and people laugh at me. I hate shopping but love nothing more than a trip to CEX to add to my DVD collection. I refuse to have my phone connected to the truck to play music and had to have a CD player fitted as "an extra". Salesman was quite rude when I requested it. I have Prime and Netflix but still struggle to find things to watch when my brain is fried from work and often resort to old favourites from the DVD collection.

I have noticed that it has been in short supply, what is the reason?

Short version ;

Wood shortage due to Russia sanctions... Wood price
from other countries spiked, people stopped buying wood... + Past two years of lockdown anyone who was going to do their garden up has done so no demand for machined timber. Coupled with spike in price for sheds / fencing putting buyers off.. that's before factoring in the cost of electricity / road haulage / import tariffs
..

.. So not much sawdust / shavings about for animal bedding/ toileting

I have thousands of CDs too, which I listen to in the car. I also have Spotify which I do love and also an app called Radio Garden which allows you to listen to digital radio stations across the world - I'm currently crushing on Nashville Country radio! :lol:

Also still have a cd player in the car even though it will Bluetooth music from phones..mainly country music 🎶
Took grandson into a cafe on Saturday it was a retro one records all over a juke box etc ..old records for place mats
The place fell silent when he said ..GG whats this black round thing ....
Explained it was a record and you used a needle to play it
He looked stunned...
I said like a big CD ..looked confused
So said those things I use in the car 😂
I mean he thinks telephone boxes were built for the defibrillators so I defo feel old now !
