Congratulations! It sounds wonderful - and I know bits of the canal there, I remember admiring a boatyard right on the outskirts of Liverpool, wonderful. What a great idea with the night vision too

Enjoy the peace and quiet, GeeGee.
It sounds lovely!
Amazon delivery day here today. Mostly preppy stuff …
More duck tape (is it ever possible to have too much?)
Assorted cable ties (watched a video that said get more cable ties as you might need to tie someone up in an emergency- not quite sure who that might be up here but hey ho- in the basket they went)
Wire cutters
Assorted superglues
3 huge pots of petroleum jelly (multitude of uses)
2 ferro rod/fire starters
1 dental /temporary filling kit
AA/AAA batteries- big packs of Amazon basics and much cheaper so giving them a whirl
Large paper plates (great suggestion on here - for power cuts so less washing up)
Spare tin opener (number 3)
Wire wool - many uses (watched a video with a 9v battery and wire wool as a great fire starter)
Had to make myself stop but so easy to become obsessive over this …
Now I just need to go and put it all away!

Tonight's prep fight with the tumble drier why is everything app controlled the big load modes are only on the app just spent 15 minutes trying to sign back in to the now "updated" app which means they've moved all the options and virtual buttons .. and I couldn't remember the email log In and pass word ... so it's now written on the door edge in sharpie marker

I'm so dozy! This is what it means, isn't it, when we talk about the internet of things, you need an app to control your appliance. My new thermostat for the central heating is sort of similar - it doesn't have an app, but it has a wifi icon. Oh bleep.Tonight's prep fight with the tumble drier why is everything app controlled the big load modes are only on the app just spent 15 minutes trying to sign back in to the now "updated" app which means they've moved all the options and virtual buttons .. and I couldn't remember the email log In and pass word ... so it's now written on the door edge in sharpie marker![]()

It's just another pain in the backside to make it harder than it needs to be. Old drier had a switch for high heat and low and a timer knob....
This one even checks you've put the clothes in with a prompt on your phone before starting :
.then you get this... All just want to know is are the kids school uniforms dry.....

Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 12
Cleaners came. Texted me at 8 to say they'd be here beteen 9 and 9.30, and turned up bang on 9. Did a good job, very professional. Stayed an extra 8 minutes (not sure if they bill me for that or not, I paid for this visit in advance). The boss came round to inspect, and asked me to inspect as well. This visit was 4 hours (2 people for 2 hours). So, am happy to continue with two hours every 4 weeks (2 people for one hour).
