I've had a series of plagues this week. Over 48 hours I had an upset stomach, a migraine, a stinking cold, BACK to the upset stomach combined with the stinking cold and a sore throat. Meh. So I've been EXCESSIVELY pleased to have a large stock of paracetamol and cold and flu tablets, together with pasta, rice and chips so I could have Bland Food to soothe my sad tum. Tablets will be getting topped up this weekend. And I have to get some sore throat sweets in because I have been sadly remiss.

Lidl has had my favourite gin in recently so I've been getting a bottle each time I go in to keep me in nice booze for the foreseeable future. Also they have multipacks of nice palmolive proper soap in at the minute so I got two packs of each 'flavour' today. It's one of the few proper soaps that doesn't entirely dry out my skin and it lasts quite a while too.

Last week I made a little zip bag to keep all my charging cables and my external battery together in my rucksack. I'll try another tomorrow for a mini first aid kit, and hopefully it will be faster to make than the last one. The lady in the tutorial took 15 minutes. I took over an afternoon

Please don’t be offended if you already know this but be very careful mixing paracetamol with cold and flu remedies. They often contain paracetamol in addition to other ingredients. You can easily overdose.

Paracetamol maximum of 4 grams in 24 hours for an adult. Most tabs are 0.5 grams. Don’t risk an OD. I have seen it and its a horrible way to die.

Not offended and I did know that. The paracetamol was for the migraine. The cold and flu stuff came out when the cold started up. I didn't cross the streams

I bought another two battery light bars today, As seems to be traditional, one doesn't work properly - it comes on the second the batteries are in and doesn't switch off. I've tried all sorts of on/off permutations, and still it's just ON. So I'll save that one for hooking on one of the many nails sticking out of the front wall. It'll keep the garden lit.

Well this week i am spray painting some steel window bars to be fitted the the inside read side door in case someone get past the 3 ultra bright lights lol , then i am going to be measuring the windows down stairs for plywood window boards .

I am also after info from you the crew lol , my wife saw a lady on you tube with a vacuum sealer for jars now i know jen gave a good tip on that but the thing the lady had is a large glass jar you pop your jar inside with the lid loose and then pop the top on the large jar connect your vacuum sealer to suck the air out and it seals the jar down you then let the pressure out and can lift your jar out and twist bingo sealed .i think it was called the foodsaver a yank item but i am sure i can get it in the uk with luck madam will be happy and that makes life so good for me when she smiles i know i have done good lol yup 36 years have taught me that .

We are also going to the petrol station to fill 2 more 5 ltr cans with petrol stabilizer in so i can store it longer i will label and rotate ever 6 months but i want 5 gallon in stock in the end for the gennie .

Hmm oh and i must clean the raised beds and do garden work as the man that helps us do the garden has been taken ill so yup just must remember slow and listen to my body lol before the wife finds me face down lol ,

Oh and i must sort out a cat box outdoor house thing for the strays that now come and eat the fox food lol ,last one when did this for now lives in the house and is treated better than the queens corgis lol fresh boiled chicken and i am not a cat person but i will never see an animal suffer lol i should put a picture of our little lady on the before and after lol when she first came in she could fit in a tiny little cat igloo now she has a huge play frame bed thing and hangs out of it lol but even when she bites and scratches i look at her madly then think i wonder how badly treated she must have been the winter of the beast from the east being thrown out bless her ok well that is my work for this week

There's a stray round here and next door was feeding it, but they just gave their notice, so I might have to adopt it myself. It comes in my garden a lot but I've not seen it for a few days. I haven't had crap on my lawn for a long time, but there was some near my newly planted bushes (which died in the drought* and have been replaced). If it comes back I might put an outdoor litter tray out.

*maybe the cat droppings had something to do with it as well.

I'm a huge cat lover but it does pay to remember that cats are good preps too  Pest control! We had a rat under the chicken coop in the last house, only thing that got rid of him and his family - was the big ginger tom who lived in a box in the garden. He was very cuddly and friendly but hell on rodents - very handy. And a dog will deter people, makes sense to keep pets
Preps this week seem to have stalled due to lack of dough.

Spotted the cat, got some tuna in a bowl, showed it him, then put in near a hole in the hedge (he was next door). After a few minutes he came and ate it. Washed it and put it back out with some water in. Put a note for next door to tell them I'd be feeding him every day.
Need to buy some cat bowls and cat food now!

If you adopt it and feed it in the garden it won't poo where it eats... Likewise it'll usually chase any other cats out we've got 2 and very very rare do we find deposits
If your roughing it, Your doing it wrong ;)

Lack of planning on your part doesn't make it an emergency on mine
