On a separate note, I got a refund from my waterproof coat today. It was a Marmot Precip that cost me £57 - turned out that the arms weren't waterproof so what's the point of that then?! Anyway, I'm not buying another, parkaway coats all seem too fragile. Need to come up with a cheaper solution. Maybe just one of the £15 puppies from Mountain Warehouse.

Look at the Tog 24 stuff the active and milatex ranges the latter been much harder wearing

I have the escape.. http://www.tog24.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=Escape

And you can use it as a waterproof shell or add a inner with 3 press stud loops (not the best system but it works). I've got a soft shell liner and a down liner effectively giving me a all year round combination of jackets

Here it is! Seems to be fixed to my pocket nice and secure. Looking good!

Torch is just as a size comparison.

So here's my question of the day - if you only had one pair of shoes, what would they be?

This is an important thing to consider, I reckon. Cold feet is a bad thing, poorly fitting cheap shoes are also a bad thing. Heavy shoes are bad, but are they a compromise?

I'm finding the topic really difficult. I want something that I can use for work (smart looking), use for days off (warm in winter, cool in summer), and then use to walk up mountains (waterproof, tough and extremely comfortable). Do these shoes exist?

Shoes: smart work ones err Clark's got some smart dress shoes with goretex liners and a decent walking shoe style sole for £59 in a Clark's factory outlet

The Chinese tend to copy other designs for sure. Basically they both sit in one of my bag pockets to make it easier to grab what I need when I'm working. One is set up for first aid, the other as commonly used tools. It also makes it easier to move my first aid kit around to other bags I use.

lol, sadly not. I really wish someone made one of those dog packs for a smaller dog like mine. I'd not carry him, but I don't see why he can't carry his own stuff.
