I sympathize with your situation but don't you think the actions you are taking are a bit drastic? OK, you do not want to work for the new owners - but why quit outright? Why not work there for a bit while you look for another job. You may find that the new owners will offer you a package to leave after a short time anyways - this is commonly done with unhappy employees of a business that has been taken over. It is my understanding that quitting without cause affects your ability to apply for benefits.

Is it possible that the sense of betrayal you now feel towards your current boss has generated so much anger you are taking actions contrary to your own best interests?

I spent 3 hours playing Fallout 3 on my playstation 3. I am sure I managed to convince the wife it was for prepping purposes?

Well it hasn't all been this week but we've taken a giant leap to our own place after a really long wait so can really start putting the plans into place. We've moved a little bit more rural to a small(er) village where we're hoping we can really become part of the community. We already knew a lot of people but its only once you live somewhere that you can really start to integrate.
We successfully and subtly managed to move our stores in and can now expand them into all our massive cupboards. Garden isn't as big as we wanted but the location couldnt be turned down. Currently trying to find a little bit of field to rent for a veg patch and maybe some animals to compensate!
Plenty still on the list but feel pretty good for the minute. Just 35 years to go and the house will be ours lol ;)

Laying in stocks of tea, flour, and wool for knitting. Cutting down portion sizes to WW2 ration levels just for an experiment, and building up the coal.

Well, now we've been on our summer holiday, and my husband's job situation seems to have sorted itself out a bit more, I need to restock as I had run supplies down low. Needed to save money in the last few months so eaten a lot of the pasta etc I had stored, drunk a lot of the fruit juices. So my preps this week are taking stock, and putting in a program of surplace buying for the next 4 or 5 weeks weekly shopping trips. Oh and digging up some of the spuds from this years allotment.
