I understand the meaning of the word in the UK. In my experience it is called a butt or ass pack. The U.S. military version is a GREAT piece of gear.

I'm going to go off topic here and if Jansman wants to delete then fair enough.

A few years ago the company I was working for had some plant installed that had been bought from the US. It was installed by a UK contractor but the supplying company sent two US engineers to oversee the installation.

The two American guys were shocked to hear one girls from the office announce that "she was going outside to smoke a fag". They just looked at each other and couldn't help but burst out laughing.

We had to explain to the girl the meaning of what she had said in American English and to the engineers the meaning in British English.

It made me laugh anyway :D

I thought preppers would be like minded people open to assisting one another but many posts seem to not be that way ,

I live rurally and have plenty of routes to get to out of the way areas .

I for one wouldn't drop trees and try and turn people away because if there was a big disaster I'd want to form new community's no man can do everything and I believe humans are better off together at of people's motives seem to be holding up somewhere and surviving . I prefer going to somewhere and living yes people might not get along but some people also wouldn't survive without help . I live in a very trusting part of the world and I'd happily help people from area us Yorkshire folk say it how it is to friend or foe .
