Mainly prepping for another flooding episode
But having family overseas in Far east and with the recent riots/political unrest affecting family over there I agree that when bad stuff happens reality changes fast .Like others on this forum think we will have an economic downturn and power shortages affecting food supplies etc.
Never realised how dependant on overseas suppliers for gas etc we now are and find that very scary!.

I think an economic downturn has to come at some point within my lifetime, with that comes many of the inevitable challenges, power cuts, food shortages etc & of course the ever growing risk of terrorism which may lead us to a social divide & greater civil unrest.

So im gearing much of my preps in those areas, & I'm currently growing my food stores & learning new skills whenever I can & I really want to get some form of solar power system with a battery bank backup in place in the next couple of years, so I can be independant from the grid should it ever go down long term.

I would also like to get a quality wood burner to cover off the possible loss of the gas fired heating system currently in my house.

So thats about it for me, food, water, security & reliable communications with loved ones & independance from the power grid & utilities is what I'm working towards, just hope I can get it all in place before its needed.
