I would like a better one, found some very popular makes but not sure the extra cash can be justified, as your looking starting from £350/£400 for a good enough spec and popular/rated make, I probably could spend the extra cash on other stuff we need if the cheaper one is adequate.
I've only seen one other ( a compound Barnett) in the flesh similar power, and no real difference in accuracy, that said we are only having fun, erm put it this way if hunting with them were legal in this country then I'd need way more practice, I actually shudder to think of the suffering caused by poorly placed shots where they do allow it, but then both the crossbows and bolts they use are far better quality perhaps?
We're only shooting it between 15 and 20 yards and can expect groups as low as 4" or as big as 12" but even though we've had it and used it for years I still consider myself a novice, half of the times it gets used I'm loading it for others to have a go on and I get knackered even with the cocking aid, in all that time I doubt I have fired more than it 300 times and so spaced out in time that I'm often almost back to square one for half of what I do shoot, also bear in mind it's not the exclusive toy I have my 60lb compound bow and the kids have their recurve bows, plus pistol crossbows and numerous airguns and catapults lol, I think you'd need the opinion of a less diverse crossbow fan TBH I can only tell you that it's all bloody good clean family fun whether it goes bang, twang, or phut and we do it all, often on the same day
I have a strategy, it's not written in stone, nor can it be, this scenario has too many variables, everything about it depends on those variables, being specific is not possible.
