Just for small scale business Lil. Person to person can be bartered and traded.
Companies are so abstract, they cannot provide services or products when there are chains of middle men between. They´d not even get their commodities to produce anything.

Yes. It would be back to wartime, and the spiv who found a way in the factory back door and who had a friend who knew what bits to pinch, who had a friend who knew how to join the bits together!
The really well off lucky people would be the ones who can turn their hand to anything and make things with their hands, as opposed to buying it.

Have just read the entire thread and i must say some funny stories, well its kinda the same in my house my misses doesnt really see the need to go nuts on the stocke pile front althought she does understand and agree on the need for a B.O.L and B.O.B i know kinda contradiction right lol oh how my life gets intresting at times, the wife and i spend a lot of time out doors and away camping. hiking etc so we do keep a nice supply of brit rats(burger and beans/oatmeal block -ahhh baby) and MRE`s to hand, so that kinda compensats i guess i genrally have about a weeks supply in the house but we cant seem to find a common ground on the bake bean front any ideas........

Its really difficult to persuade your OH I think its only when something happens like your water supply being cut off or some sort of local shortage or the electricity supply being interrupted that they begin to realise.
