Unfortunately it is about a 45min drive, into the wye valley but beggars can't be choosers!
Best get an early start on that run Sue, I do the 30+ miles from home to work in Glos most days and it can be a bit slow with the traffic build up, but don't let that put you off ;)

Sometimes it takes me that long to do about four miles if the traffic is bad! I'm probably using more petrol than you will be!

I dunno, I drive a clapped out P reg Ford Galaxy, runs like a blooming tank and eats the petrol too! Not the most economical vehicle I've ever had.

Tell me about it. Mine eats juice like it's going out of fashion - sodding thing!

Continued buying extra canned/dryed goods, a couple of each every day. Ordered two tea light lanterns to give emergency light, bought a couple of litres of meths for my newly arrived mini trangia stove.
Thought about a generator for lighting, but if the shtf, I don't really want my house shining like a glow worm in the night attracting possible unwanted attention.
Thinking of a paraffin stove for heating, remember the one 50 years ago when I was a kid, lovely and warm but boy did it stink, do today's paraffin stoves smell any better?

Only prep I'm doing this week is preparing for a job interview!! Fingers crossed......
Well my prep paid off and I'm through to the 2nd interview next week! :)

To catch up with my weekly challenge, this weekend I will be cleaning more bottles and replacing water, trying to make some flatbread eg naan or something, and helping to haul our pile of wood.

That's excellent news Sue, fingers crossed that the next one goes as well.

My prep this week is that I now have the letter saying funds have been transferred into my current account so tomorrow I can finally pay off the whole mortgage and start saving over £300 a month towards a self-induced pension plan and of course any spare can go into the prep room

Allotment planned, didn't need to buy any seeds.
Next week:
Sowing toms, peppers and chillis tomorrow. Will bring them on at home.
Plan to install a woodburner in the allotment shed.
Will order more wood to burn at home and go hunt for more in skips around town.
