just had 5 minutes spare and wondered if this was on the right lines:

On the first day of prepping I gave to myself – A new bag to grab from my shelf.
On the second day of prepping I gave to myself – two foil blankets,
On the third day of prepping I gave to myself – three days of rations
On the fourth day of prepping I gave to myself – four cooling gels.
On the fifth day of prepping I gave to myself – five storage tins!
On the sixth day of prepping I gave to myself – six metres of cord
On the seventh day of prepping I gave to myself – seven days of practise
On the eighth day of prepping I gave to myself – eight friends all helping
On the ninth day of prepping I gave to myself – nine litres waiting
On the tenth day of prepping I gave to myself – ten first aid additions
On the eleventh day of prepping I gave to myself – eleven bits of clothing
On the twelfth day of prepping I gave to myself – twelve replacement batteries

any alteration suggestions???? :D :D :D

I quite like it, some good little nuggets in there.

Im going to treat myself to an axe (or hatchet) but do not know what brand, size, type to get...any advice please? will be a present to self if that counts. think i need a small kindling preparing one for camping/trekking

Hiya

Worked at an outdoors store for a bit, and I can recommend the gerber sport axe as a fairly small and lightweight axe. Very strong for its size, but the materials used make it a bit pricey.... Go outdoors do them now for about 38 quid I think, but shop around and I'm sure you will do better!

The only down side of this axe is that unless you are ray mears, you probably couldn't make a replacement handle if something went badly wrong.... Having said that, handle is supposed to be VERY strong..... Hope this helps in your search!

I gave a few prepping pressies, but did not receive any (got some very nice presents but they could not described as prepping ones, I suppose the Bonsai Tree could be burnt on a fire!!!).
......but....1 tin of Quality Street, sitting around looking 'spare', with an expiry date of 02/2014 has now disappeared in the store :D . I do wonder how long it will stay there though.

the wife got me a fantastic head torch, but the best present is that she talks about prepping to me now, she even buys the odd item for the store, i even caught her on amazon the other day looking at prepping books, and when i asked her about it she said wtshtf there will be no internet so we'll need the books.........slowly slowly does it
