Put some ICE numbers in her phone

Check to see if there are and student zones in the area

This link should have a load of advice on it.

Thank you for your contribution but am a step ahead of you already done that. And am adding some safe type things as an addition present. One looks like a book. And also a door wedge alarm. For her money and stuff to be hid in plain sight and also some security when she is in her room (more for second year when she's house sharing) alone.

I bet I'm sounding like the over protective boyfriend.

You sound like a loving boyfriend who cares about his girlfriend. Keep that up..... Young men today need to know how to treat women and I don't care who slags me off for saying it but I love being looked after by my fella :D

Thanks sue that means a lot. Claire always says that but I still think I'm
Being over protective it's nice to hear it from Someone else's perspective.

As an other half myself - You are Not over protective - you care - Don't stop. We need more guys like you out there.
If you can assist your other half in being better prepared, you can both feel better about her safety, and you won't need to worry so much.
Just remember she has to carry this thing around.

This is what I have in my EDC which is also my handbag. This is all in one small (if solid) bag 7x6x4 inches a Game Case GBA (Game Boy Advance) by Gamester.

Car & House Keys, phone, Work ID badge, purse with money cards and Drivers License, small pad & pen, card of gaffer tape, diary with important numbers & addresses in case phone battery is dead, and an emergency £10 note hidden in the cover, Hygienic hand wipes, small pack tissues, lipstick, lip balm, feminine hygiene products, small over the counter First Aid kit plus sachet of vinegar (from a Fast Food place) for nettle stings etc, small scissors, and tweezers for splinters , Paracetamol, Ibuprofen, throat sweets, paracord bracelet of about 15 Feet, small sewing kit with LOTS of extra safety pins - these are a must. Then there is a ziplok bag with a small multi-tool, a spectacles repair kit, pencil, and a mini loctite.

Attached to the outside of the bag is a small LED torch, emergency whistle, small Swiss Army knife, and personal alarm.

Hope this helps

Thanks Tracey, glad to hear I'm not the overprotective guy, always think I am due to stuff that has happened to one of my friends in the past that I couldn't protect so always think I go to far on the protective front.

I've decided to use a solid hard shell case, either a GBA/Nintendo DS/pencil case in which I will go with most of the above, I will also attack it with a needle a thread to add some Velcro stipe to add other things such as touch, ?personal alarm? (Maybe).

Also thanks again for reassuring me that I'm not an overprotective worrier Boyfriend.

Sam.

How about a medic alert necklace. Maybe a pendant she can hide money in.i put my keys on a chain with night bus money. It really saved my bacon when my car was broken into away from my flat. I just bussed back and let myself in and sorted the car out in the morning.Taping a money note to yourself is good as well.

That is something I hadn't thought about. But It would have been a good idea I ended up including something similar
