Dragon Supplies are a small independent specialist in Colchester. My brother, a parachute regiment veteran (Heric '08) recommends them above anywhere else.
I am not sure about my own large rucksack atm (I have a big civvy DEUTER, I love Deuter on the whole, but this thing isn't so hot, I bought it unseen from the internet, as I so highly value their Guide 45+ {It is an amazing day and a half pack / climbing pack} and thought that quilty and fit would be worth the risk. Its not bad, but would not bet my life on it, as I would with most of my other gear). Anyway, I will be using Dragoin Supplies for webbing, looking at a variant of their Tan - Butt Pack setup.

They are army supply specialists, I am not affliated, but they look very solid.
TBH I would still rate Cotswould, Snow & Rock, or Ellis Brigham, above ANYWHERE for a good boot fit service.
If you know what you are looking for, great, the internet has a great variety to choose from, and plenty of deals, but trust, for sooo much gear you want to really know what you are buying (still mad at myself for buying that big Deuter...)
PS The Meindl Burma Boot is a classic, but is being replaced. If you are after a pair, all the retailers are flogging them off cheap, so act fast!
The replacement is not so much a revolution, more an evolution they say, and they look pretty similar, just tougher... I will be checking them out when I have a spare hour to pop in and have a play .
