Repeat prescriptions

The saga continueth! I went to order a repeat prescription online recently and found that I'm not allowed to order anything until 7 days before the previous lot runs out

Deeply unhappy about this for so many reasons - not only does this mean I definitely can't build up a small stock, it also means that I can't time getting my prescriptions for when I can afford it (i.e. after payday). It also means there's a larger margin of error if I go to put in my prescription with 7 days left and the chemist has run out. This could be a problem in bad weather.

Right, that's it. I'm getting the cheapo antihistamines online as a safety net and putting in a request for my purple inhaler now (not requested that one yet) so what stores I have will last longer.

Could have lost your meds when collecting them and there fore need another prescription

You might find it easier to pick your drugs up early in rural areas then urban ones, they understand that you might only be passing once a week and don't want to make a special trip.

My local pharmacy lets you email repeats in so you don't have to go there twice

Is worth a thought, but source needs to be reliable otherwise you have no idea what is in them and its impossible to tell from the website.

I have bought prescription meds on-line twice and the first lot was absolutely fine, but im sure the second lot was either just a placebo or a very weakened dose. my local boots was short staffed and loosing perscriptions left right and centre at the time

Im concern about this too, as both my children take beta blockers for heart conditions, coming off these meds suddenly if there is a supply problem can be very dangerous, resulting in palpitations chest pains and possibly even death.
but I have no idea how to build up a supply as my GP surgery is very hot on only letting you pick up new perscriptions within a week of running out.

I think in a SHTF situation, I would ave to immediately half their doseages, and gradually wean them of with the the supply I have.

I have a friend in a similar situation . . . . . .

their solution is they have family over 80 miles away and therefore when they visit it is impractical to drive all the way back home to pick it up as that would be a 160 mile round trip their solution is to go into either Asda or a community clinic explain they have asthma and their visiting their family and then they are either given a prescription or sold one by the pharmacist.

I guess this is a different story for me being a citizen of wales. Here prescriptions are free and tbh I wouldnt be grudged paying for them like most other people who work full time in wales. We do have people taking liberties and constantly order drugs they dont need.

However, I am limited to one seretide and one ventolin a month as well as one box of tramadol. on the odd occasion i have handed the ventolin back straight away as i dont always need another, Over the last year, I have been issued 12 inhalers, 5 handed straight back, 4 i have used 3 i have saved in various places
