Home heating
Re: Home heating
Oh , one thing I forgot to add. When I tried making these I used , as I said , a car jack but I also made some smaller ones just with my hands sort of a paper snowball . The big advantage was the drying time being so much shorter than the bricks. They are also a bit quicker to produce as well as there's no messing around filling and unfilling the machine and pumping the car jack.

We've done the whole briquette thing too. Not worth it. Paper is good twisted into a long spiral, bent over and used as a firelighter, used as a mulch on the allotment, or added to compost. Turning it back into logs isn't worth it.

In the amazon link someone commented that just leaving a newspaper out in the rain , leaving it to dry produces pretty much the same result as the whole brick making malarkey .
Re: Home heating
I too have a very low opinion of the paper briquette making fiasco
But I think I just might try this, minimal effort.................grenfell wrote:In the amazon link someone commented that just leaving a newspaper out in the rain , leaving it to dry produces pretty much the same result as the whole brick making malarkey .
