Bad idea IMO. But if you are going to, I'd recommend putting a warning sign in your car in case of accidents on the road, and dont put it in a standard plastic container - instead something like this:

Thanks FC, can't believe I forgot socks! As a professional soldier, I am suitably ashamed. I've also added 48hrs rations for the dog, as he's with me most of the time and would turn his nose up at the stuff that comes out of an MRE!

I tend to wear some varitation of combat boot, even when off duty, so footwear isn't much of an issue.

Mallie99, what's your objection to carrying spare fuel? I usually have a 5l can in the boot, but I can see why your suggested one is better. Would I be right is guessing you have some link to the Fire Service?
CUM SI NON - WHEN, NOT IF

“These men are living out here on rice and beans, sleeping out in the cold in these rags… these are some ****’ hard men. You ladies bitch if you get an MRE without a ****’ Pop Tart.”

No link there gunny, just makes sense to me that if you were going to carry flammable liquid in the boot of your car that it's at least as well protected as the fuel tank of your car. I'd have the fuel can strapped so it can't move about too, it's all about minimising risk.

A comprehensive kit there. One simple addition may make life more comfortable though (imo), toilet paper. :D

hi there

i also travel over 50 miles daily to work but have a van so using storage under the front seats and two small compartments which i have got a sleeping back and soon with a bit of a reorg can get a 50 litre tactical back pack flattened down.

i also to much of the amusement of other workers have adapted my onsite locker which i have an air bed sleeping bag etc with 3 days food stored on site and 3 days in the van so shtf i have got a week supply either move or hunker down to see what happens !

the only thing is carrying a good knife uk law only allows 3 inches so could not keep a survival knife on the van !

like the 12 volt kettle !

cheers

I have a whitby 4" locking folder with a part serrated blade in the spare wheel well taped to the towing strop should i need to cut the said strop... (10 tonne lifting strop i liberated from work ((not stolen we get them all the time trapped in packs of timber)) been taped to the strop wrapped round the spare wheel under the boot carpet and rubber mat along with a folding shovel jump leads shackles should i hope be a good enough reason and not easily accessable unless i empty all the crap out my boot
