Is this an age related thing? I've turned 60 and it happens quite a lot these days.
Well I have been a bit like that for the last few years and put it down to blood sugar fluctuations as I am T2 Diabetic (since 2013)......the better my control the better my memory works ........
Not saying you are but might be worth checking, easy if you know a mate with a meter............and I think some pharmacies do it...
Aye, I check my blood sugar quite regularly just for fun. I have access to all the gadgets in work. But my bloods keep coming back ok. I'll keep an eye on it - I think my idiocy is just part of my personality. Bah! I'm the afflicted.
Thanks Hamradioop, I've seen them for sale. They're just more than I want to pay. I ordered a Duracell 'trade' battery from eBay for a quid. I'm hoping it will have the six little batteries inside it. I'll make a little vid of my findings when done.
I love motorcycles like a fat guy loves cake. I also love cake.

Yes, type 2 since the turn of the century. Managing to keep it at a safe level with tablets though. Exercise not possible all the time unfortunately.
It was cutting carbs that got me sorted , 6 months following a LCHF (Low Carb High Fat) diet saw me lose 3 stone and my last test at the end of jan saw me no longer in the diabetic range....... and being a long term lifter I also managed to not lose any muscle mass ....... so all good

Can i ask what you did to replace white bread? For me i have moved on to that brown bread with seeds in (granery i think it's called) but biggest problem for me is potatoes, I have no idea what to replace them with, some of the options that have been suggested i don't like so i'm stuffed

Please bear in mind i am prepping for the River Thames to flood and how i can get to safe ground, I'm not worried about the end of the world..... I'll die with the other Minions.
I can't trust Govt or local Council to help me so i have to help myself.

Yep I find it hard but I did not give up completely just down to 40g a day, which if I have no other carbs means I can have a few small spuds with sunday dinner etc.,,, another option is creamed cauli instead of mash but I tend to have some mashed/roasted swede as its lower in carbs than spuds...
Some have gone to granary, as its a slow release carb but the trouble is that ALL carbs turn to sugar after ingestion ..........
But Lidl do a Protein roll which is famous on the diabetic forums, as when sliced it is only 4 grams carbs per slice....
I was having awful blood results last summer(15-20) but a month after starting LCHF my bloods were down to 5-6 and I can now have a higher carb day and my bloods are still spot on, the theory being that I deplete my carb stores during the week with exercise so when I do a carb day it just shoots straight into the muscle so not effecting me (Cyclical Ketogenic Diet).....check out the Ketogenic diet by lyle mcdonald http://www.bodyrecomposition.com/the-ketogenic-diet/
Wasn't too sure where to post this so went for here. Just arrived today from Mr Ebay, another 6000MaH power bank, this one can be used as a lantern too. It seems robust but its a bit bigger than my other more pocket ergonomic one which will still be my primary carry when required. I'll have a play and see how long the lantern lasts and report back.

Just noticed the price of it, I paid about 9 quid for it not 19.
Looks like a nice design although I see what you say about it being a bit bulky. I've just bought one of these for my EDC which should be good enough for a single charge:

I've got a decent one that size and I risked getting another 3 or 4 cheap ones from China that were a bit 'meh'. I put one of these in my pocket if I'm going to be any distance from home. I get 1.8 full charges out of it and while its that bit bulkier than the small ones its quite pocket friendly. In the past I've found keeping spare batteries for a phone a great way to do it, usually 1 in my wallet but I went against the grain and got one with a built in battery (long and boring story).

You'd spend more on a Sunday paper. How could you go wrong? I like it because it's disposable. If I lose it, ah well. I'd be gutted if I lost a £20 knife.
I'll risk getting a couple to put away, as you say, if they're not getting heavy use they should be fine. I'll retrieve the SAK in the missus's car bag and replace it with one of these. Good find.
Did I already ask - what did you think? Do they match up to your expectations? I'm comparing to the little fake SAK KFSs that I bought for a quid, and also the proper SAK. The fake SAK is ok, does the job, but is all loose now and it wouldn't hold up to any major tasks.
I've been carrying mine for a while now and think it's holding up well. Thinking of swapping back to the SAK Spartan now though, it's quite a heavy thing for the size of it. Or I might swap out for my mini Gerber BG multi-tool. I've bought little pocket clips like these so that I can attach anything to the inside of any pocket I want.
Makes it well easier to carry smaller things in yer cargo or front pocket.
I picked up a bunch of those too, really useful also picked up a few of these which were the same price 99p with free shipping.
Their about six times as big and have an integrated bottle opener and flathead screwdriver. Much thicker steel and better pocket retention.
