Waiting for my new spirit stove to arrive and am (when I get paid next) gonna be looking out for a kelly kettle (twig kettle) with pot stand which I have wanted to get for ages. Its not a necessity, but it is something that i think is worth while having in case.

Been looking at where to go probably lake district..but you have to act like ninjas when wild camping tho apparently :S
Tents next on my list too and sleeping bag. I might head south to new forest to start little undecided, want a test run close to home.
Why gotta b a ninja there??

Because wild camping is illegal in England. I'm not going to print the law but basically its tolerated as long as you are hidden, pitch late and leave early :( I think its legal on one of the national parks can't remember which. Anyway hence ninja skills to keep hidden. I'm going to pack a blow pipe and some shuriken for any troublesome farmer :O j/k

I'm haven't wild camped yet so it could all be smoke and mirrors i'll let you know :) Good luck with yours

Glad you told me that so its gonna be camping sites with family and basics on walks, early starts it is then. Can understand if people set up.camp and dont leave, damage the area or dont tidy up

Purchased 3 X ultra bright LED head torches from the 99p shop. Think I can rig them up in series to run off a 12V battery and reflect the light off the ceiling to give bright ambient illumination. The torches boast 9 X LED in each and are really rather powerful.

The only problem I found with the SAS Survival handbook was that it isn't UK Specific, I live in the UK where there are very few tropical forests or deserts to get lost in :(

Now if he had written just one book specificaly for the UK it would have been better, but it was written for soldiers who might end up in any country around the world behind enemy lines possibly and the subjects are written with that premise.

Has anyone come across something more UK orientated? Bearing in mind that in the UK we are never more than 8 miles from civilisation

Finally ordered a basic first aid kit and for less than £4 on ebay that seems quite worth while and yes, i will be adding to it with time.

£4 pretty good deal :) I was looking at mine... Needs serious revamp. It was set for me, but times have changed so tomorrow will see that looked at. Can anyone tell me my bandages have dates on them?
Next 4days will be to enroll for 1st aid class (if colleges are open)
Clear out rest of space for storage (well on top of that )
Lastly head to sales see what deals are left... Esp on camping equipment things for summer
