Interesting review. do you know of a stove that is actually good for proper cooking using alcohol?
You would need to look for one that can be pressurised.

the mini trangia set won't be any better than the tatonka with a wind shield around it.

Got better at using my alcohol stove. Taken delivery of my basic first aid kit (that is now hanging behind the bathroom door) and the cheap (less than £3) fire steel thingy that works very well indeed.

I have made a dog food tin hobo stove - worked very well
bought a few boxes of swan vesta matches, more bottled water, a load of AA and AAA batteries and finally bought the book "food for free".

Finally put my mylar bags to use! Bagged up some rice, pasta, rolled oats, muesli and dog food. Got far more in to the bags than I expected so only used a few! Packed those in to my freebie big blue barrel and filled my two free water barrels too.
Now to add some tins and jars to the barrel for some flavour along with sugar, salt, spices and dried milk to male a handy grab and go food stash :) as is it would keep.us going but it wouldn't half be boring!

Finally got round to servicing both the generators , a monster 7.5kva that would run the house happily , and the baby 700w suitcase that is great for charging batteries , rotated the petrol and added stabiliser to the rest , managed to snap the brand new spark plug which is annoying and also potentially catastrophic so bought a extra spare as well , well even I'm not perfect.

Done my last big tesco.com online shopping load before the cold weather comes properly. Much of it is tinned everyday value stuff.

Its amazing how little you spend if the bulk of your shopping is "everyday value".

However, if like me you have terrible dentistry and other health problems, and you need specialist products for them, that jacks the price up a lot.

Going to learn how to make bread too.. havent done so since i was a kid so will be a good skill to have.

More organising of cupboards and moving things about in order to fit mum in and keep the stores organised

Organise the cars for the bad weather everyones expecting.
