Re: What Preps are you doing this week
Doing all my cooking off grid for a month. Its good practice. It requires more planning than regular bung-it-in-the-micro or shove-it-on-the-hob cooking, but the more of it i do the more that i know that it is doable.

A few bits for bugging in: Portable gas stove (http://www.bmstores.co.uk/products/port ... ove-254176) and 8 canisters, all for £16.97. Disposable Flint Lighters 7 pack 99p. A couple more 9 led torches from Wilcos (the rubber coated ones) + spare batteries. Baby steps!
Re: What Preps are you doing this week
Today I am in the polytunnel, potting on chillies. Then it is poultry cleaning time. I have no work this week,so I am shelving out a small shed I do not use much to store empty buckets , bottles etc. It is wired, so one side will be for my micro-brewery!
Hopefully I will also get a bit of fishing in. Where I plan to go British Wayerways have cut a load of trees, so it'll give me a chance to suss out some free firewood.

Meeting some other preppers for lunch today. A time of relaxation and building community. Looking forward to this.
I feel a bit behind in the planting stakes
so I will be ordering some bits online and buying some seeds.

PreppingSu, have a great time! Always good to have meets
I've been amalgamating storage - everything's in a state of flux for the next few months, so although I'd prefer to store a rounded food supply in the plastic crates I have, carbs with veg and with proteins, it doesn't help me sort out what I have. So now, for all the recent purchases, my carbs are all together, and the other stuff too. I might keep it that way, actually, its a lot easier to lay hands on.

Re: What Preps are you doing this week
Been fairly busy on my week off:
Dentist visit to keep on top of dental health.
Optician to get updated prescription and order spare glasses and sunglasses (and check eye health).
Started to 'tart-up' my house in preparation to putting it on the market later in the year in hope of moving out into country to somewhere with more land.
Going through finances with a fine tooth comb to find where I can save + how much I can afford to spend on new house !
Spring-cleaning house to reduce junk and collect up a load of stuff for car-boot / eBay to raise some extra cash.
Visited Caravan + camping show in Brum to drool over motorhomes etc.
Took + passed theory test for driving (
) so just practical test to do (in a few week's time hopefully) to get more independant.
