Created larger composting areas, determined to add more to it and bin less. More compost to use in the future. :)

Started fermenting more alcohol for fuel, not really a prep, its just something I do as I am trying to do more low grid reliant living. And also the alcohol can be useful for cleaning, dissolving grease and many other things as well as burning. This is the first time I have tried to do it with a bread yeast, but i am also using loads of nutrient. Hopefully that will help.

Fell off the prepper wagon because of family stuff over Christmas, plus work mayhem. Need to get back into it asap because I found out today that I have to reapply for my job. Not a surprise really, apart from the speed from old boss getting the boot, to new boss telling us half of us will be going. Dammit.
Going home at the weekend to see family and discuss potentially moving back. I've been offered my Nan's old bungalow at cheap rent. I really REALLY need to itemise what food I've got in and what food I should get on while I still have a wage. It's a job I keep putting off, but now it's urgent.

Ouch, Mouse! Do you want to keep that job? *can* you keep it if you take the bungalow?

I just bought some nice walking shoes, on the Brantano sale, using a 20% discount code from moneysaving expert. And I was all set to finally buy a fireproof safe and a head torch from Wilkos when I noticed you can pay via paypal, so I'm holding off till later this week when I've got some new money coming into paypal.

I can't keep the job if I move home. The commute wouldn't work in any way shape or form. No, it's a bolthole in case of redundancy. I've wanted out of London for some time now and this redundancy might be my way out.

I read the new job descriptions properly last night when I got home (from the pub, where all my workmates were drowning our sorrows!). They are a nervous breakdown waiting to happen. The PTB at work are trying to squash as much work into as few people as possible. We're all predicting that those who stay will end up off sick a lot from stress.

There's lots about this whole process that will be stressful and nasty and will involve arguments probably, but I kinda want this redundancy. I want out of the London rat race. It's the positive that will come out of this whole thing. I'll be OK for a bit - I've been saving for a while now so I can live for a few months or so fairly comfortably.

More "ouch" for you, Mouse! Hope you can hang on long enough to get that redundancy money, and not let the stress of it get to you too much.
