My sit on kayak provides me with all the exercise i need.especiallyon slow or non moving river and canals,:also gives me chance to reach remote and often hidden but possible bug out sites or cache sites that wouldbe missed.
It also let's me know what flora n fauna are in that area

id really struggle to run a mile or so.. but i can put my rucksack on and walk 20+ miles in a day or cycle 100+ miles.. fitness is more what you need that what people say you should do.. i dont enjoy gyms..

+1 to that and I do love my kayak can move on that thing and Haul cargo in another kayaks behind with a towbar mod that I made, when I acquired my dads welder. Pretty stable actually and train with it as often as I can get out to my second home (water)

I wouldn't even try unless it was life and death - and even then, I'd look for someone who could or some sort of transport!

I can happily trundle along indefinitely. Ok, after the first couple of miles it's more like hopalong, but I get there. The hip bothers, but not dreadfully so, and I usually have codeine on me if it does start getting to the annoyance stage. And I'd rather do that than run. It makes more sense to me. Half the time, when the kids are watching Bear Grylls, I'm sitting here saying ''but why is he always in such a rush? It makes no sense; better to move at a brisk walk, conserve more energy and take time to cook whatever it is you're planning to eat. Even the stuff with a higher number of legs than my shoe size. Especially that.''

Another four miles today, went down to the new shop to let in the bloke to check the extinguishers. Head wind at 30mph + on the way, plus rain, but it was nice on the way back; rain had gone and the sun even came out for a bit!

Another few weeks of this, I'll start using the kettle bell weights :)
