I hate to say. Yet here it is.

While the temptation to bluff is quite strong, you may need to rethink the potential if SHTF.

If you find yourself in a situation where you would need to utilize a (RIF) Realistic Imitation Firearm to scare off a someone or someone's, things have started to get a bit bad. So is the other party desperate enough to not buy the bluff? I will admit that due to the restrictive firearms laws here, the sight of a firearm looking thing can scare the average punter. Yet you have to deal with the fact that once you get past the initial fear factor you run into the fact that since the firearms laws are so strict here, it is less likely that your opponent will believe that you do in fact have a real one.

I like to follow the keep good OPSEC and stay out of the way of the Locusts approach.

I think that a machete is way more scary most of the time. Plus it is a useful tool. And (I do not advocate violence) it does what it says on the tin.

Peace all.
I don't do politics or religion. Seen to many people die because of these.

I post to contribute so take as you see fit. My way is not the only way.

Cheers

I mean if youre toting a SCAR-H or M16 or some other high tech military looking kit, then probably nobody going to fall for it. However, something like a shotgun or battered old looking handgun like a colt 1911 would be more believable, maybe even as far as dodgey looking AK47s I might believe some people could get their hands on in a SHTF moment.

Frankly though the best use I could think of for my airsoft guns in a SHTF are using them as a club, especially my solid wood and steel AK

If I were TRULY desperate and my life depended on it, Id perhaps consider peppering someone's face with BBs as theyll happily crack a tooth and take an eye out, but Id rather just avoid the scenario altogether. I certainly wouldnt kit up like Rambo and take to the streets with my toy machine gun when the SHTF
You are right of course. In any situation the best form of self defence is, not to be there in the first place.

A quick web search will tell you that back in 2010 there were over 1.8 million licenced guns in the UK & god knows how many more that are held illegally by criminals.

I think it wise to assume that there are more guns in the UK than many people realise & I would certainly not want to chance calling anyones bluff if they had what appeared to be a firearm.

Great post, IMHO it's not worth gambling with your safety on what is simply a bluff. There is also very little you can bluff with (what is essentially a toy) an air soft firearm that you cannot with your so-much-more useful hunting knife or even axe..

Really!? You have a RIF that has a muzzle velocity greater than a Sig P226 (1150fps) and only slight less than half that of an SA80 Assault Rifle (3084fps)?

Yep. 1400 to 1500fps. In BB, B, SG. Made by Molot.
I recently experienced Plymouth City centre so that's why I prep.

It was alleged I had them all  we've been on the wrong track all along, what we need if TS ever does HTF is real ones that look like airsoft ones luring the zombies into a false sense of security
I have a strategy, it's not written in stone, nor can it be, this scenario has too many variables, everything about it depends on those variables, being specific is not possible.
