I had the opposite thought (to start with) :
High suger, high fat foods get a bit more expensive...manufacturers find other ways to make their food taste nice rather than put the price up past that 'price point'.
That sounds nice.
What about adding some cynicism?
Manufacturers reduce portion sizes...well, that is morally bad, but at least you eat a little less (I'm fat, I see that as a benefit)
Manufacturers ruduce the sugar, add other stuff, costs go up by 2%, they put their prices up by 5% and make more money out of us.
Manufacturers don't care - fat and sugar are preservatives...the sort of things that keep your bread fresh for a week.
I'm doubtful it'll work, I would like to say the intentions were right, but i'm doubtful of that these days too!
