What Preps are you doing this week
Re: What Preps are you doing this week
Went to an Open Meeting at my local Rifle Shooting Club. Physically painful to get into that position, I didn't expect that! And I went cross-eyed after two minutes
this may be more difficult than I imagined...

My try-and-buy pack of Emergency Food arrived from Germany.
Blimey, those BP-5 bars are hard work to get down - I hope I have plenty of water available if I have to use them for real - I've had about a pint so far and am only 3/4 way through the first 250 calories.
I wonder if there is any calorific value in eating plasterboard - that is probably a similar experience.

Read a book: "Outpost", not so good. Spent few hours reorganizing medical supplies at home (just bought a heavy duty toolbox from B&Q for this reason) + BOB first aid kit topping up. Ordered a camo t-shirt from amazon. Planted some veg as experienece in DIY rubbish bags.

Various packages available from http://shop.conserva.de/en/65-probierpaketeForgeCorvus wrote:got a link you can share? Also if you could do a review please
I went for the one that seems to have a bit of everything - http://shop.conserva.de/en/probierpaket ... large.html
I should be able to do a review thread and add to it as and when I try the different products.

I don't know if your club will allow this method but my 14yr old daughter has been able to master using a heavy air rifle by adopting a seated position using a back to front kitchen chair. She rests the weight of the weapon on the chair back. Using this method she is more relaxed and can control her breathing very well. Might be worth a try.Arzosah wrote:Hamradioop wrote:Yoga?Arzosah wrote:Went to an Open Meeting at my local Rifle Shooting Club. Physically painful to get into that position, I didn't expect that! Crouching over the thing, trying to line the sight up with the target ... I tried adjusting it the way *I* thought it should be, and my eyes just stopped focussing on anything to do with rifles and targets! I tried lying down to shoot, as was recommended, and the anti-intuitive curve my back needed to be in gave me a headache. It was horrible!

Not that I'm suggesting for one minute you're a 14yr old girl! I just used that as an example of finding a comfy shooting position to zero in your sights.

I recently experienced Plymouth City centre so that's why I prep.

**jaw drops** - nope, never heard that, I was an arty-farty liberal leftie in my previous life. But I can relate now, sure as sureForgeCorvus wrote:Arzosah, You've heard that Snipers are born not made...... Now you know why![]()
I think I'll go along there for the maximum four times as a guest, and then thats it, I won't be joining - I'll get a little bit of experience, for myself and for the book.

Well this week I have been mostly.....
Joining the local archery club, ordering things for my BOB, buying seeds, raiding the local poundland (2 glowsticks for a pound, 10l water carrier for a pound etc), stocking up on food and water, trying to get my other half to buy into it to no avail and reading up loads and loads....
