It’s wicked is toothache! Hope you are ok soon. I have an infection in one that I am keeping at bay,thankfully. Dental treatment right now would be good,but cannot see him for a week ,and chemotherapy puts it at another level. Can’t make it up! Yeah. You need loads of preps in a car, especially in winter. Even on my push bike I carry a very small first aid kit, tools, inner tube, CO2, Imodium, bog roll, wet wipes, disposable gloves, front light, spare rear light, safety glasses (for if it's dark/gloomy - my shades react to light, but only down to a certain level), reading glasses (x 3.5 mag), maybe gloves and rain jacket. I always wear a bright yellow or orange top. And of course bluetooth earphones for music, which I can use for voice nav.

For the car kit I've gone for the big end of injuries ok it's got a few plasters on but car crashes = big trauma type injuries and mass casualty potential.. 2 cars. With 4 people in each that's 8 potential patients.....
I've got 4 foil blankets that's enough to drape over 8 people's top halfs if sat / trapped in a car
Oales modular bandage
Oales blast bandage
Celox gauze
Genuine cat tourniquet
Large trauma dressing
Burns gell sachet
Saline eyewash vials
Sam splint
Eye pads
Tuff cuts
Glass breaker
White glow sticks
Don't forget a high Vis jacket / vest for yourself and a warning triangle to attempt to make the area as safe as possible before you dive in to help I find my high Vis yeloiw / green first aider vest the MD jokingly got me years ago when I passed the course drivers generally do as directed and give you space people do seem to have up most respect for ambulance/ medical staff uniforms over a generic builders highvis coat / vest
Need to find another 10mm/ 13mm combination open ended spanner to get batteries disconnected if possible (to disable air bags / prevent risk of fire)

I saw a car crash while hiking in the Scottish highlands. Car hit a lorry head on. Lorry went off the road and down the hill but the driver was uninjured. Car driver was unconscious. He was in the road, at least by the time I got there. I guees he might have got thrown out. One of the people I was with was a doctor, she ran up to the crash site. We were about 200 years away when it happened, heard the bang. It was a country road in the middle of nowhere, no walls, single lane on a bend in between the hills. I yelled at her to drop her ruckack so she could run quicker.

Fools rush in ... We've all done it.. most notably with a fire at work running with a 15kg ISH extinguisher put me off balance resulting in 5 surgical staples in my shin which I hit on a steel frame....
A steady walk let's you take in more of the scene and let's you plan as you approach. Weather it's noticing a fuel leak, or having the presence of mind to shut down a still running machine or vehicle and make it safe putting the parking brake on for example ...
Mate sent me dash cam of a head on crash he witnessed he's savvy enough ....
First thing he did was life hammered the car window as he couldn't open the door turned the ignition off on both cars and set the handbrakes and put the car keys on Tue dash .. Stood up to see two very happy ambulance staff who appeared as he set about the cars
Whilst the ambulance set about the victims
He then managed to get one battery off with a spanner the other car needed the fire service to pop the bonnet to make safe but hung about whilst they arrived having grabbed the extinguisher and provided limited fire cover till trumpton arrived to watch the backs of the ambulance crew

Anyway, speaking of fools rushing, one of the scariest things I ever saw was when we were tring to move a lathe. Must have weighed as much as a car, probably a lot more. Big solid thing used for turning sqare steel bars into round ones. They have to be heavy to not vibrate. It started to slip off a wooden support we were moving it on. This bloke heroically tried to stop it whacking the concrete by inserting his FOOT underneath! Luckilly it didn't move any further before I could yell at him to remove his foot!

They are a smidge on the heavy side aren't they we had a little Colchester at work could feel the tines on a 2.5 tonne forklift flexing when I inched it up to get some blocks under it..
To be fair old machinery from morticers to chop saws used to be very "sturdy" unlike the modern junk
We took delivery of a 8 head moulding machine at work a few years ago that was a fun evening the hiab only just lifted it
People fail to realise by that a standard steel toe cap is only rated at 200n. Which is 200kg static compression or 20kg dropped from 1m

Had an annoying day. Phone carrier swap had a few glitches. Had to do a Network Reset in the end.
Then I got some 18650s and they were longer than my old ones and got jammed in my radio. Had to poke a screwdriver in and risk damaging them. Bent one of the springs. They go in but a very tight fit. Was hard enough getting the old ones out. I guess they'll do as spares. Two batteries cost half as much as the radio!
I've tied a quadruple lenth of strong thread in a loop around each of the original batteries before pushing them in the radio, makes getting them out a lot easier. One loop per battery. I let the excess thread dangle out under the battery cover so it doesn't fall down the small gap at the side of the battery.
So - when buying 18650s, bear in mind protected can be several mm longer. Mine are 69.8. 65 is the 65 in 18650. 18 is the diameter. Mine are 18.5.
Also there are flat top, button top, and another kind I think!
