That's the aim eventually, still loads to do in the house, then replace the fence.....

Hah, all bought and paid for, with me watching the complete job done for me. Money well spent as I learnt loads from observing.
Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.

I picked a load early September but noted bushes that had yet to ripen. Picking today - it was a good amount, not huge berries but decent enough and there is still plenty to pick. I have never known them this late!
But I'll keep picking until they are no good. :)

My Grandad used to say you shouldn't pick blackberries after Oct 1st because the Devil had pee'd on them.

Obviously he knew a much less polite Devil..

Got enough brambles to start my bramble liqueur, and got the machete out to help get through the undergrowth , didn't realise how dull the blade had got , so got the sharpener out and now its sharp , not razor sharp but it isn't going to perform any operations just sharp enough to slice through about 20mm new grown foliage.

A little geeky I know but I have to leave home for just under a year so I have hidden a list.
If TSHTF I can direct Mrs 7ps to the list; it's a laminated sheet, on 1 side is a 'to do' list if things go a little sour, if things go horribly wrong the flip side has a slightly different list.
It's written in priority order too. And, seen as the laminator was still hot I did a mini version that I keep in my wallet. I know we all know exactly what to do but I don't think it's a bad idea to have a mini reminder on me, just so I don't forget anything.

That's a great idea. Perhaps something that we should all do to help our family members.
Good luck with what you are doing.

That's inspired! :D Hope your travels are safe and fun :)

I've had the slow cooker going all weekend and I now have a freezer full of stew, chilli and soon, bolognese sauce - that way I have dinners sorted for a bit and I can save some money. Aldi's had some good deals on recently, so I've got silly amounts of pasta, rice, additional bike lights (3 sets) and a couple of sewing kits. I've stocked up on toiletries today because Superdrug has some offers on. Bought a new winter coat as well today - a Jack Wolfskin one. Probably the most money I've ever spent on an item of clothing, but I think it will be worth it.

Made toffee vodka earlier in the week. I'm waiting for the first frost so I can go claim the sloes down the road for gin purposes
