After reading a post on here about being ill and using all the Paracetamol (sorry, I can't remember who it was!) I had a look into my own pills, lotions and potions stores, OMG what a mess! Like all my other preps it's total chaos and in dire need of sorting and topping up. That is my goal for today, tidy and write a list of replenishments.

Good luck Bram ! ;)

I tried that the week before last...theres still boxes and bags, over-spilling meds, all over the flat. Another thing La Shockette is less than happy about.

I just moved a lot of prep stuff into the car as a short term "hide it and hope for the best" solution. Im running out of places to hide things ! :?

PS- the butterfly wound closures I ordered from 3bay arrived and they had a use by date 4 years ago  The vendor assures me that the supplier assured her that it was a printing error...I am not very reassured. I think I will order some more, from someone else.

The deed is done. The good news is, I don't need to worry about running out of Paracetamol. The count has revealed enough to kill a herd of Elephants. Ibuprofen needs topping up as does cough mixture and throat sweets. I could do with some more olbas oil and the eye ointment I have is OOD. The first aid side is fine, but I really should add some sensitive skin plasters. So It was a bit of time well spent.

Must admit Brambles, that our meds need sorting. My dear lady keeps packets of everything all over the place instead of taking one from the medicine cabinet Makes it difficult to keep track of stocks. When she is at work on Monday there will be a Purge! Thanks for reminding me. :D

Funnily enough, my FAK/meds is one of my more organised preps, I can put a hand on my packs and the vast majority of my meds. Now if I could say the same about the rest of my gear I' be a happy camper.

Well on the fak subject buy good supplies from known brands I ripped my finger open today on a bit of swarf (since some "darling" tried to pinch the wrought iron gates at my mum and dads! Unlucky for them the steel posts just held took me and dad about 3 hours to sort and rehang the gate as we stripped the post added extra brackets and seam welded bits that had been damaged)

And the Tesco wound closure strips are about as sticky as a none sticky thing!

Wound closure strips that are anything but sh!te are very hard to come by in the UK. In fact the same goes for just about any wound closure products. :x

Now that we cannot rely on there being a doctor or A&E available when we really need it, these things (along with the training to use them) are getting to be a necessity. The ones I just had with the comedy dates on were a good brand that I have used before, just a different vendor as my usual suppliers dont seem to be around anymore. :(

All the same, the butterfly closures sold in the UK are nothing on the ones I used to get sent from the US - those ones really, really stuck on! And the link between the two (good sized) pads was thin but had a nylon monofilament core, so little wound obstruction and good holding strength. I suppose I will have to bite the proverbial and pay the import duty, as my NYC relatives dont seem to be talking to me at the mo. :?

...exits stage left, sound of moans and complaints; "Nothings as good as it used to be! Bloody steri-strips? Dont make me laugh! I remember when it was all fields"...etc,etc, ad nauseum

I gave up with stri strips years ago. A&E put some on an injury the Brambling picked up when he was a kid. They didn't even stay on long enough to get home.
