We got some extra kit for the EDC's that need to be added to existing stock. Not very exciting stuff but useful such as waterproof ponchos, blister packs, survival blankets, survival sleeping bag and fire-starters. There's a couple of syringes for long term med dispensing but they'll be put in the BOB's with some spare survival blankets and bags.
Re: What Preps are you doing this week
Got quite a bit to catch up on in the forthcoming week with my preps..
Need to add stuff into date diary also need to check the date diary as I am a few days behind.
Got some shelving finally being delivered during the week as well, which will give me some much needed space.
Picked up some real handy food preps the last few weeks as well...
In our local Asda they have started selling catering cans of food from corned beef to enough beans in one can to feed a small army, I was like a kid in a candy store when I saw it all...
so yea another busy prepping week ahead I think,
Speak to you all soon.

Having food, water and shelter are not a right.
They are a responsibility.
So make it your priority.

There is talk of scrapping the RSGB tests, their numbers are falling fast while licence free radio is booming.

Re: What Preps are you doing this week
Busy prepping day yesterday - I made some onion marmalade in the afternoon (800g went into one sterilised peanut butter jar, in the end!) and had a little bit of buying going on in the evening - some RFID blockers for my credit cards, the Ball Complete Book of Home Preserving, some wound closure strips and some "Resuscishields" - like you see in films, where if someone needs resus, you lay it over their face, and it prevents cross-infection ... we'll see.
Found out that Boots do the wound closure strips too, presumably the big branches only.

Got my ON grid lighting in place to help me maintain health of mind and body through light therapy (circadian rhythms and all that to help with my problems sleeping and in case I end up getting insomnia before things get bad)
One light box off ebay. Works perfectly and I felt my brain working better after 1 hour of treatment. Will be using that every day with my morning coffee and checking email time.
2 X 9 watt remote control colour change light bulbs (B22 socket the standard British bayonet light fitting).
Blue light as given off by modern light bulbs can stop the hormone of sleep from being produced. If I go red light when I want it (as well as blue blocking spectacles and the like on the 3 hour period up to bed time) that should do it.
BUT the 9 watt LED bulbs are rather dim and when I have them set to white, they are a cold blue hue. Hmmm. Might have to look into the 11 watt versions or higher.
However, the blue setting is very blue and the red setting is very red and on top of that they are fun. However, I need them brighter!!
The optician said that they can make me blue blocking prescription spectacles and so that is brilliant too. I have my appointment for the eye test tomorrow. Gonna order one set of photochromics, one set of sunglasses and one set of yellow tinted blue blocking glasses.
