Today my foodsaver arrived :D so I've been sorting through my food prepps and vac-packing rice, pasta, noodles, oats, jerky and flour, ordering some mylar bags tomorrow, this weekend I'll be checking on my stash's and doing a stealth camp to practice my concealment skills,
Does anyone have any tips or tricks, or know a good supplier for the rolls, mylar bags ect.

Very tidy :)

I wish you were buying them all from me

What frequencies are you going to use for your family comms?

The battery life is so good I never get around to using the AAA battery pack!

ordered a large metal watering can that I am going to use as a make shift shower with water that has been heated on alcohol stoves and in kelley kettles.

Done a spreadsheet. (you can tell I'm serious!) Have arrived at 39 food items I intend to stock, set target stock levels, counted current holdings, worked out what I need to buy to hit target, and how much it will cost. Previously, I've just been going with whatever seems cheap, and desirable. I have to say, a little organisation has seen me reassess my shopping priorities quite considerably. I commend this (not very exciting) exercise to anyone with a limited budget and/or limited storage space.

Cheers, 2RM.

Started onions, leeks, chillies in the propagator. Continue to stack (free) firewood, and Monday I have 1Tonne of coal coming in. This will see us through to the end of the burning season and leave enough to take us to Christmas this year. This means that if there are supply problems at the start of Autumn, we are covered. My Coalman also goes away to his villa in September!
I am looking forward to some warm weather to get the cover on my backyard poly tunnel.

;)

added bonus in the odd sunny day you can leave it outside and it will warm itself ... the flow isnt too bad if you get it high up and at a push from full 2 people can have a shower from one fill..... (used it in the garage when we had no bathroom for a few days whilst it was redone into the old bath tub then emptied tub with aqua vac) ;)

Absolutely brilliant idea.... for the summer BUT I don't want to have to time my showers just for the summer and even then just for when the weather is good otherwise I would go through the entire late autumn, winter and early frosty spring unclean and smelling like a tramp.

Therefore investing in a watering can that I can just keep for showering in the bath under sub standard weather conditions seems like a good move to me.

Or maybe I'm just a bit of a loon for wanting to get into the bath naked with a watering can. I dunno.
