Just a note as to the legality or broads...
I mean breadheads...
There's nothing to state they are illegal.
They come under just the same legislation as knives, with the criminal justice act and offensive weapons act.
An arrow (or even just the point, whatever it is) can be defined as a pointed or sharpened article, same as is used to define a knife, and therefore you need a good reason to have one in public.
The problem might arise if you are carrying or using broadheads and someone takes offence... if the police asked you would need to justify your need for them and if they wanted to be difficult, they could say that you don't need broadheads for target practice, only normal points. Then you're nicked. Most likely a court would be saying this though; the copper might just nick you anyway.
The only possible defence I could see to this is if you hunt abroad with them, and are therefore practising with your normal arrows. Hunting here might be illegal but practising to hunt elsewhere isn't, in itself.
Also, you might get charged with going equipped to poach or something like that, depending on circumstances, although the same could easily be said of a normal point.
...
So, not illegal, but might get you into trouble out and about.

You could join a reenactment group. 
I`m a member of one, and am licensed to carry reenactment quality weapons which include my xbows and recurve, plus axes, swords and certain knives I own, to and from venues or to and from practice. The stipulation is that the weapons must have been inspected by the group`s Master At Arms and when they are being carried, must be broken down (if they can be) and suitably covered to protect any member of the public from injury (though I have to admit, no member of the public tends to come anywhere near a middle aged woman carrying a sword, axe or xbow 
)
so it`s one solution to the legalities.

My Hunic bow....
Living room wall before I redecorated, I no longer hang so many weapons up as it was scaring visitors. My daughters boyfriend took a whole year before he could utter a word to me!
As you can see, weapons can quickly become a passion

Bloody hell talk about accsent wall that a nice collection so is the law the same on owning swords could i own one and mount it on my wall and that legal and above board? and Red doe i dont think you look unapproachable i mean slighty scary but not unapprochable lol

Not sure how the law runs on swords except in a reenactment situation. Against the wall in the corner there, might be a wee bit hard to see, I have a claymore, two fencing rapiers, a Celtic leaf bladed sword in a beautiful thick veg tanned leather studded scabbard (it`s my `baby` ) and a double headed throwing axe.
There must be somewhere to look up on the law and weapons though, I know it isn`t illegal to keep them, it`s the transporting them in public that`s the thing.
I`m not only slightly scary, I`m terrifying, gotta face only me mother would love and can snarl like a Viking wifie going through the midlife crisis
Edited to add, you can still pick up good enough bows on Ebay, but they put a stop to selling and buying of crossbows, swords and knives....I recently sold a world war one German bayonet and couldn`t find anywhere to list it, had to sell it to a friend in Sweden who collects bayonets. Haven`t found anywhere since Ebay to buy second hand crossbows, but it might be easier for folks further south, there might be more places. New ones can be expensive.

Recurve, I find it less `fiddly`
Though my absolute favourite weapon is the crossbow. Or maybe a sword. Can`t decide, but I remember talking to one Master At Arms who, after instructing a few `squishies` (term for newbie fighters, for obvious reasons 
) told me, "Y`know, all the fancy footwork and impressive looking overhead swings and passes, it`s all really for show. In a real situation, get as close as you can to your opponent and poke the pointed end into `im. Works a treat" and that just cracked me up. I like practical things, not a frilly kind of woman at all.
