Try switching your search engine to a non google alternative. They're buggers for screwing about with the results you get. I use duckduckgo.
These are some of the links I have bookmarked.

Lots of good stuff there. My parents in law use a variety of methods to preserve the stuff they grow (MiL is a real soup fiend now!) but primarily the sand box method for root veg. It works really well. They finished the 2011 harvest in May 2012. They use paper sacks for tatties, still got three and a half left from their last harvest, will probably do the pair of them til they plant and harvest the first of this years crops.

Re: how am I preparing??
So this week back to gym after christmas period and january newbies mostly gone... Feel sore but ill live. Got some my camping kit out and managed to encourage my misses to help me try it out and learn some skills with me... I say she was thrilled by the idea haha. Enrolled back to college to do a course and will do 1st aid along side it, might do the next level 1st aid later on.
Food store is going very nicely and I think im spending less overall. Also started to store basic comforts and working on measures to add to cooking, heating and water storage.
Pollytunnel will be up soon, be a trail this year, got area cleared for it and the put down foundation. Get it going, plenty of farm work to do including repairs and ploughing fields. This will be a busy year hopefully and hope weather is on our side. Would love an extra hour in the day

st3vi3 wrote:yea i agree with the library, ours aint that great, ebay is wonderful nowadays i get books for £2 or £3 and resell them. as for the garden i work with my partners father in spare time on their farm. last we grew loads of veg and acre of spuds. this year we bought a polytunnel and hope to take step further. i am trying to get him to get hens and turkeys in, but as farms go there is always project to do. in future hope to get planning permission to build there and prep easier. At the minute its hard due to location and living in a housing estate in small house. still can set aside at very least 3 months of food anywhere in my eyes.
car boot sales can pull up some nice "junk" treasures. Do we ever to storage holding auctions over here or is that just USA?
There are storage auctions here but they are few and far between, best to approach storage business' direct to ask if anything is coming up, another good place to pick up bargains for yourself or re-sale are police auctions. I got myself a full suspension bike for £8 (nearly new) and a lawn mower for £3!

Re: how am I preparing??
Just had a thought, with your pay being so delayed the company you work for have a legal obligation to provide you with your wages and most people dont know....for example is...if you were due pay on 1st jan and didnt receive any, you can tell them you need it within next day or so and they have a responsibility to get it to you, all companies have the facility to get the money into your bank within 24 working hours, is a simple BACS system, also if you do not want to tell them to pay you and pay you now or if they do not pay you in this timeframe lol then if you incur any bank charges or default charges on returned bills then the company is liable for those charges, always best to let boss know if your wages are late and you have bills due, also make them aware that they will be held accountable for any charges you may receive! may want to check up on this but Im 99% sure the law hasnt changed to much recently on this kind of thingst3vi3 wrote:Thanks for the reply![]()
