Bigger boots stores have 4x4" miolin pads in along with bandages

If you have a branch of screwfix locally search their site for first aid kit refill
If your roughing it, Your doing it wrong ;)

Well sorted out the cupboards and reorganised so preps are all together good news is that with the freezer normal cupboards and the prep cupboard I have just over 2 months supply which is a months more food than I thought I had. The bad news is that I seem to have a large amount of spam  and only a couple of tins of veg, Oh well at lest I know what I need to stock up on.

finally got some panniers for my old mountain bike. I know its hardly BOV type gear, but it will mean that I can actually get out and about and stock up on things I need when I need and thats cool enough for me. Its only a cheap rack, so 10 Kg max between the two bags, but it will do me.

Panniers are a godsend! My pushbike came with a pannier rack and I bought the biggest volume pannier bags I could. It's amazing how much I can carry in them, but I do have to be a bit careful about weight because otherwise my back tyre complains a bit. I think you're wrong saying that it's not BOV gear because when I lived in London, my bicycle was my BOV!

I think a bike is an excellent BOV, it's virtually silent and can go places a vehicle can't................

I went out for a wander this evening and discovered that a part of my emergency over-the-fields route home from work is being built on! It's been in the pipeline for a bit, and a couple of weeks ago there was barriers up which you could squeeze past. Now those barriers are not very passable and there's mountains of soil. So cross! Over the weekend, I'll try getting past from the other direction, but it looks like I'll have to find another emergency route home. Dammit.

So the lesson here kids is to regularly check your routes!

Thats so true! I have lots of quiet country footpaths near me, but one of them has gone - after being closed temporarily for building work, it now has houses on both sides of it :(

For my own preps - I'm using lots of Sainsbo vouchers to up my food and hygiene stocks - they offered me four sets of £10 off a £50 shop, with free delivery no matter what time of day - thats up to £16 off each visit, and I don't have to queue in the ratted supermarket for all that stuff, or cart it home, saving me oodles of time as well as money :) which I then use to work on my preps - in my case, finishing off planting in the garden, and constructing my haybox cooker.

I did a chemist trawl today and got myself a few boxes of Paramol for my stash of medicines. Not had much chance to do any prepps since being back from family visit to IOW last week. :?

Was nice to open my cupboards and see my stashes though, sister and family live day to day food wise which I found shocking!! They never know what they will want to eat was their reasoning behind it. I had a word with them to at least do a weekly shop if the basics and then increase to a monthly shop. I was very shocked indeed!!
