Be Prepared.
Plan like its the last loaf on the shop shelves.
Plan like its the last beer in the fridge.

Going in...it doesn't burn coming out, you would think it would but i think it is because it is not chewed.

I always reckoned a good Madras curry was a cure-all and preventative.

Re: !!Getting Out!!
My Guess is that if the numbers of infected continue to grow in West Africa throughout December, January and February then we can expect several (possibly dozens) Ebola carriers travelling in to the UK during 2015. I don't expect an outbreak here though. If it takes a year or two to control the outbreak in Africa then an outbreak in another continent becomes more likely. Anywhere where sanitation can be poor, such as rural India, is at risk. We're then looking at many years to control it while hoping it doesn't mutate into a less deadly disease which would increase the speed of it's spread.
Bugging out now might mean several years away from home as conditions and risks worsen. However if you have the means and mind to do so, go for it. I for one would love to be able to grab some peace and quiet and find time to read some (prepping!) books.

Agreed if it got to the slums in India ( and other places in the world) it could cause havoc with the poor levels of hygiene and sanitation. It does seem the Indian authorities are aware though and are taking measures ,

Re: !!Getting Out!!
Any country with the money and facilities to do some serious containment will snuff out an outbreak pretty quickly, and that includes the Uk, India and most other places in the world... After all, it was contained in places like DRC in the past, so for the likes of Britain it should be easy.
Unless you are hanging out in the current outbreak zones you have almost zero chance of catching ebola. It is not especially contagious and once someone here has it, they will be contained and kept from contact. Ok, that only holds for now - if it mutates that is a different story, but that's a big 'if'...
Anyway, not sure bugging out would actually help much if we had a UK pandemic, unless you seriously think you could avoid contact with any other humans until the worst is over.

Re: !!Getting Out!!
theres nothing in our part of the world for now to worry about!.use your resources now if you want.but come the day you may need them, they will be gone.QUAID wrote:Don't know about you folks, but i'm not hanging around. . . I'm getting out and going to my alternate location. I'm not waiting for any 21 day incubation period.... call me paranoid, but better to act 1 month too early than 1 hour too late.
Will leave on Monday 13th Oct 14.
My question is.. is anyone considering going to an alternate location prior to any potential mass Ebola outbreak or widespread resource shortage / panic?
and what preparations has anyone made to this specific threat?
Good luck!
i think bugging out is a poor option.i personally think staying at home with a months food water and fuel(maybe a fortnight), with perhaps some method of protecting your family. and probaly a car to gtf out if need be would be good, for just about any situation in the uk.bushcraft etc is great fun but in reality little else.

A fortnight's supplies is nowhere near long enough for me. I get viruses that last for much longer than that, when even dealing with a supermarket delivery is too draining.
