TP,

I try to! Prints, catalogues, cards, postcards, badges... The cards probably do best - low cost to make, lots of cafes will stock them.
Will add my website to my sig so ya'll can see.

Ooh, Hobo, thanks for that.

Down here, there's the Sussex Guild http://thesussexguild.co.uk/ which has its own shop in Lewes, and members take it in turns to staff it. Anything like that round your way, or are you already there? What about "infiltrating" Hebden Bridge? I know its practically underwater at the moment, but isn't it more or less the Totnes of the north west? My local Egyptology Society have a "souk" noticeboard, where members can advertise their own businesses for free. How far do you extend, do you go down to Liverpool and Manchester on sale or return?

Apologies if I've got your geographical location completely wrong

Nothing like the Sussex Guild here, but that's a damn fine idea! As is Hebden B. Have only done sale or return in N Yorks so far but I promise to get my act together!
Nearly packed the whole artist thing in 2 months back - HUGE confidence crisis.... was saved by a Harrogate gallery asking to represent me, followed by winning some funding for a new catalogue. Hasn't brought back the creativity yet but give it time!

Congratulations! When you get somebody *asking* to represent you, you really should believe that you're doing something right. And Harrogate is really rich! I've only been there once, ages ago, but there's plenty of potential clients for you in them thar hills!

I come from a farming back ground so used to turning my hand to most things. Depends on the situation if people don't have money a barter for services works. I teach martial arts and have a few student who pay in services rather than cash eg one guy valets my car when I need it doing plus services my car for cost.
