Spent last couple of days up the mountain testing equipment. Was beautiful forest with snow up to 30cm deep and views that were breah taking. Wanted to test some clothes that got on rather well kept me warm dry and comfortable. Got my camelpack out was great to have water on my back and carry few other things but pipe was tasting of rubber so need to clear that. Broke out the stove to I got of ebay and worked great, nice we feed. Saw no one up there because the roads were pretty bad but didnt stop me. Glad I went views were brill and testing is important now I know it works. Even got my misses up she even enjoyed it too, esp seeing the wild deer running around.

Wow! Sounds idyllic - and yes, please update every now and then, it sounds *so* positive - not so much Doomsday Preppers as The Good Life!

Thanks for all kind comments as always,

Still moving across but weather aint been on my side grrr. Been strange weather lately and fallin behind on few projects.

Pollytunnel is one, needs plastic put on but cant get at it( too mucky). We made it 16ft wide and 30ft long so its a nice start, put in a concrete path the length and stoned of a section for starting plants and bench to go in for working on.... If weather improves.

As live on a farm I want to get my own cattle and milking cow. Been talkin and thinkin of this for a while now and will attend a few markets for prices. This will help produce milk for the calves and me and my family. Also good investment (if prices stay up) in long run.

Started to install a chicken house to get eggs but weather beat me again. Want to make it fox proof :)

Keeping on my plan but always seem to add to it... Either by readin books or just ideas that pop up as I go... Its good fun and even better simpily I feel more prepared and stocked up... Granted im living in boxes at the min but I have the basic... Roll on the good british weather

Well done and good luck, I hope the weather does get better :? On the fox front did you ever see Hugh F-W high rise coop, and he advocated urinating around the edges of the chicken area yourself saying "it deters them".
I have a strategy, it's not written in stone, nor can it be, this scenario has too many variables, everything about it depends on those variables, being specific is not possible.
