you will need to beat the dealers, because they will be there. I havent been to a boot sale in a while was always a sunday mornings exercise at my previous address as they held one 500 yards from my front door. Loads of bargains to be had.

you would be surprised, Old tools, army surplus, and lots of other bits and bobs are hunted out by dealers in my experience. I used to sell 2 or 3 times a year and attending most of the sales I got to know what was going on.

I get there fairly early-within half an hour of it opening- and I have never had any problems getting what I want, you'd be surprised what I've been able to pick up at boot sales! going to another big one on sunday about 75 miles away, up at 0600 on the road by 0700 it starts at 0900.

Its good to go to one outside your own area, they do seem to change in content, I like going to the ones on the coast when we go on holiday, things get real interesting at them.
in my local area I have a small on on a saturday that although it can be quite rubbish with only a few sellers I have found some of my most interestibg stuff there and its only 5 mins from my house.

on a sunday there is a massive 7am start one, mixed dealers as well as real booters, this can be quite traumatic to be a seller, people looking in the back of the car before you can get setup and what I call 'walkers' from the local suburbs with their cases on wheels.
From there I go to another for 9/10am, much the same but closer to the coast and not close enough to any town for the 'walkers', then a 12/1pm ish one to finish the afternoon, I like the late one its very different and far less manic, they also alow sellers to set up before letting ghe buyers in, if im goibg to sell its there.
I do love a booty.

we have a local one here every Sunday, but its all rubbish....unless your after second hand childrens clothes and toys that is, there is a good auction here on a Tuesday where you get some interesting stuff. Bude(Stratton) is a good one but dosent start until April due to being on a field, Exeter(Marsh Barton) is a HUGE one and well worth going but you have to be there early like 7-8am its no good turning up at 11 cos all the good stuff has gone by then!

I know it was a good one 5 or 6 years ago when we lived in Somerset but haven't been since we moved back home to Devon, thought it might be good to try. there are others in Somerset if you get down this way, Ilchester, Puriton, Frome we used to go to them all regularly, I think there are some around the Berrow area. check out this site for info....www.carbootjunction.com
