Djorn,
I fired a few bolts last week when the son-in-law brought his round our house.
To be honest I was blown away with it.
Light to hold with a good balance.
It shoots at 245 feet per second and I got a 2 inch penetration into a 5 x 5 inch hardwood fence post @ 20 meters.
The 3 dot sight takes some time to zero in but is good when done.
It's solid construction and easy to put together (so my non-practical minded son-in-law tells me)
It comes wit a sling and that is very comfortable to wear on the back yet does not get in the way when firing from standing ar laying positions.
The ally bolts that come with it are crap but handy for zero-ing in the sight. buying carbon bolts are a must for longer bolt life.
In this world it's hard to find value for your £££ but this bow is an exception to the rule, well worth the £100 and probably worth more in reality.
The reviews from hunters in the USA are good, they give it a big thumbs up for hunting larger game like deer and one crossbow hunter claims his has taken down an elk.
Even with a dodgy back I could load, aim and fire 4 bolts a minute if needed.
Hope that answers your question.

I couldn't agree more there we got a dozen aluminium shafts with my compound bow after the 1st day either all the shafts were bent or the rubber flights were shredded

Oops, OK then I shot the bolts
I'll catch up with you lot on Monday evening

Work has lost a big account so shifts have become shorter therefore less money so have been using our stocks to make up the difference which has helped and the main reason we prep, well after z day. On the plus side I have got a second job I've got a couple of nights delivering for pizza hut used to work for them before so this should help out and give a few extra quid to restock and increase the levels for next time. Plan to work there for maybe 6 months or till I can find a new job that won't be so flexible with the hours.
Not planning for the end of the world just to survive till normality resumes, while sticking to the scout moto be prepared!
Still considering do I want to survive the end of the world or deck chair on the front lawn with a cold beer?

Hi Djorn,Djorn wrote:Nice Radios, I have one Baofeng UV-5R hand held Ham radio, looking into a long wire aerial for it to boost the Signal.
A long wire aerial would not be necessary for you uv5r. A colinear at a suitable height would do more good.

When things get tough, that stockpile sure comes in handy. Good luck, and well done for adapting so well.bob the builder wrote:Work has lost a big account so shifts have become shorter therefore less money so have been using our stocks to make up the difference which has helped and the main reason we prep, well after z day. Today I have made apple cider vinegar and with the flesh made fruit leather for the kids. (most vacuum packed for treats if shtf ) will be making a lot of this as healthy and will keep the kids feeling like they have nice things.
Dried three bags of corn. two large bags of peas, two of broccoli.
Making some chicken bone broth for drying but using right away to find out measurements to use.. That will last ages though.
Might look out for marked down cakes for dehydrating. as meant to be nice for snacking on and will last ages in vacuum packs.

The bank I normally pay my USD cheques into is having a change of system which means there is a delay in getting my cleared funds though, so may have to eat what I have in stock shortly, but thats no big deal as thats what its there for.Its only if i run out of money for the meters and don't want to borrow to keep me in electric and gas thats the issue, but I have all the rest of my stuff for that, so it won't be an issue.
