Small things amuse...
Currently dehydrating the 5kg bag of onions that Iceland sold me for half price at just £1.25. With that and my massive order of powdered eggs, i'll be self sufficient in omelettes for at least 2 years

Got a delivery of 54kg of dug kibble and some extra dug treats today so at least they'll be Brexit proof for a while. The dugs are about 35kg each so they do go through it right enough. Need to top up on cat food too although the evil wee b'stard is pretty good at feeding himself.

Where do you order your powdered eggs from please?

Started roughing a revised car winter kit....
Down maggot currently cheap in Aldi

Maggot thermal liner
Breathable lightweight bivvie
(those 3 give me lots of sleep variation if it gets propper cold I've got a big 5 season I can lob in the boot but the liner adds a season..)
A 24 hr ration pack
Pocket dab radio and cig lighter charger plus headphones
Personal hygiene stuff (bog roll toothpaste brush and few hotel sachets of shower gell and alcohol gell)
Sol survival bivvie bag
Selection of glow sticks white and green
Winter hat fingerless mitts and work gloves
Cups X2 enamel and therma
Already got a jetboil esk stove in the car

My revised car kit is in the boot now.All packed tightly into a 15 litre rucksack.Takes up no room.Along with my trusty Barbour ,we should weather any storms. Mrs.J.is a lot more mobile now,so I shall make sure there is enough firewood for the week ( yes,we've been lighting the stove), sort the livestock and start taking the polytunnel down. It is beyond economic repair now. That will kickstart my garden ' makeover '.
In three words I can sum up everything I have learned about life: It goes on.

Just finishing the last of the Jam making, apricot in the photo. Blackcurrant and Strawberry already done and Plum chutney and Hoisin sauce next week. That should be enough to see us through the next few months. I love this time of year around the harvest, payback for the time and work invested.
