I thought that too, I see it as a life skill, not just a "what if"
:)

Used my training at least 5 times in less than 3 years

One finger off

One elderly woman who fell in the street smashing her face to bits

One teenager off his bike unconscious with a knee so badly smashed he was in hospital for 2 months

Drunk male unconscious in the street choking on his kabab and vomit.

And a choking child in a family pub

Plus numerous cuts and things in eyes
If your roughing it, Your doing it wrong ;)

Lack of planning on your part doesn't make it an emergency on mine

Fortunately the only times I've been in a situation where First Aid was needed, there was a capable First Aider next to me and I've only needed to clear a space (fit) or escort someone off a mountain (onset hypothermia). Third time might not be so lucky.

I was a bit in awe those times of the fast reactions of those that could. I'm not clueless about what to do (got a badge for First Aid somewhere 8-) ) but in the moment it's about knowing that you know what to do. From time to time I find myself responsible for the safety of a group, and while help is never far away it could sometimes be better to be able to cover it myself.

At least you're getting practical use. Maybe once I'm more able, situations will start to find me too.

Oxygen absorbers ordered.
Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.

order myself a 5kg twin tub washing machine to save power on washing machines and on top of that as it was dirt cheap it wold probably save on the cost of washing machine repairs and the likes as if it breaks yo just get a new one.

Ya gotta start somewhere Brambles, trying to put a positive spin on things here but starting things again you'll have a better idea of what works for you and not end up with stuff you won't use.
Must be weird NOT having galloons of zombie stores though.

It certainly is. I'm taking the view that the stores needed sorting and I've just sorted it all out (literally!) Now I'm filling up again I'm being a bit more selective and mostly will wait til I can get the canner and dehydrator going with home grown. We still can't seem to eat tinned veg. I might get the dehydrator out next week and keep an eye open for veggie bargains.

We're not mad on tinned veg, although Her Maj has got into mushy peas with our wednesday fish (that's when the fish van comes round, can't beat fresh dyed smoked haddock, braw) which means I have by default although I'd rather have garden peas. I've tried the tins from time to time and do have some but I know where you're coming from on tinned veg. I use dehydrated veg 'normally' anyway and much prefer it, I'll add it to all sorts that have any kind of 'juice' in it.

I'm sure you'll be back in business in no time.
