Crikey! Some good lists there, I may have to 'make them my own'.

I'm looking at a rainwater collecting system before winter sets in. I'm also looking at solar/wind electricity generating but the initial set-up cost (battery, charge regulator etc) means I will have to save up for these projects, so not this year. I'm also looking to increase my knowledge of plants for foraging purposes.

All this and my Open University maths course starts in 3 weeks! :o Spare time is a distant memory.

That's on my list too, a couple more months and I'll have the cash for it. :D
Thats a long way further down the line for me, but I might start to stock up in purification tablets.
I found this on youtube re: water purifier. Looks good for a bugout to me.
Would probably help if I posted the actual link! Lol!

I am intending to have a go at making a solar oven next week, I have been watching alot of diy solar oven clips on you tube and it looks pretty easy, I also watched one where a lady cooked a cassarole of some sort in a solar oven sitting out in the snow! so all you need is a bit of sun and the outside temp doesn't seem to affect it too much. (but knowing british weather i could maybe only use it 3 days a year  )

Has anybody tried making one? any advice would be fantastic please....... :)

I am intending to split my storage of food/water/equipment into three groups. Bug In, and Bug out car and Bug out on foot!

I have read alot on this site regarding storage of huge amounts, but if u r hit in the primal zone of TSHTF, its not going to help much!

I intend to make an area which i can store in manageable crates of some kind, then when that scenario pack the car in minutes getting a percentage

of your gear but a varied range of goods. or worse grab backpacks and go! has anyone done this? Any tips for this?
We live in a unsustainable world, there must be a balance, poor people/rich people no more, only prepared people will make it!

I'd like to know about sewing, knitting, fabrics.

Tracking, hunting and outdoors survival. I'm considering getting some Ray Mears books - can anyone recommend him? Or anyone better?

Short term, I'm trying to find courses and guides on home security, fire safety, first aid courses etc. can anyone recommend any more 'safety' skills like this which are of course usefel in a non prepping context also?

Would like to arrange a 'culture box' - a time capsule of my favourite music, literature and art to keep for entertainment and posterity in the event of a SHTF scenario.

Learn how to make my own ICBM. Joke.

Bump for new members

I got double allotment plot in April, put my bantams on it added some more, unfortunately most gone broody.
Planted stuff, but only spuds doing well, ants got my runners and slugs/snails my courgettes.

Plan now is to make one side raised beds and extend poultry run up other side as wife is poorly with fibro and keeping on top of weeding is hard.
