I prefer things like porridge oats because they have a lot of uses, like soothing itchy skin in the bath/breakfast/flapjacks/thickening soups & stews.
Powdered milk.
Like flour for cakes/bread/pastry/dumplings/crumbles.
Like lentils and barley because they add bulk to many things and make soup.
Also some random things like bogrolls in case the prices goes up; knitting wool cos the price of that always goes up; and always always a good stash of meds.
But I couldn't have a house packed to the rafters with all sorts of things stuffed into all sorts of corners.
But that's just me.
