Sounds lovely Yorkshire Andy. I am very jealous as one of my daughters who lives and works in another county has befriended a local beekeeper who is giving her lessons in bee keeping. He gifted her a pair of gloves and a jar of honey too so she is looking into buying a suit so she can continue her education.
Would love to keep bees but would need to get advice etc. We eat a lot of honey and buy it locally but it can be quite expensive. Mr McPrepper swears it helps with his hayfever.
Been busy harvesting potatoes, collecting eggs and sorting hen run, rotating tins and checking stocks and generally sorting out! June always feels like a really productive month.
My daughter sent me a photo tonight of her wearing her new bee suit. She is off to visit some other hives this weekend with her mentor. Very proud of her learning new skills and hope that she can teach me some knowledge too.

Hope she's got the gloves .. and wellingtons or high leg boots so they don't get her toes

Oddly, I have a cold. It’s slightly cooler in the living room, as my room is being decorated. Apparently using a fan too much can give you a sore throat, which I had yesterday. Got the back door open. Got a USB C charging plug ordered, to replace a dodgy two pin adapter. Had to get an electrician round as one of my sockets wasn’t working. Made a list of things to do once the decorator’s gone. Includes sterilising and filling 40l water. Once my room’s sorted, I can go through everything in the prep room and chuck out more junk. I sort of regret putting my winter duvet in the loft, in case any small fibreglass particles get in the bag, but I’ll wash it before I use it. I have another big bag of winter clothes, but I’m not putting that up there. The storage bags said they are non- woven, but they do have tiny holes in, I think.
