We used to open the polytunnel doors on very hot days - even with all the water in the world if the temp gets up to 35-40 degrees things are going to suffer.

I agree with Decaff, its brilliant to see your updates, Danny, you must be so proud of what you've accomplished already. And from what you post, its easy to see why planting in pots works so well, it really looks like it gives the littl'uns a chance for a head start before facing the big bad world :)

I'm really happy that the community here is appreciating the updates. I'm happy with what we have achieved so far but we have so much more to do and accomplish but it's a case of time as it's not going to work for us overnight.

I will keep updating this as and when I can and hopefully post any good tips I pick up along the way

Today's update is one of replanting a few items. Our Broad beans needed to be removed from their seed pots and established further so we have moved them into bigger pots along with our pumpkins. We have also now got potatoes emerging through the soil and have had some more rhubarb and some radish.

Spent a good bit of time today at the allotment. We had quite a task in removing the weeds and digging through one of our beds. A lot of our seedlings are starting to struggle in the greenhouse now as the temperatures are starting to climb too much so we really need to get them outside now and let them stick with the elements

We dug this bed over with the intention of planting our leek seedlings along with sugar snap peas next time and decided to then cover the bed as best we could with netting. Once I am satisfied that the leeks are settled then I will removed the netting.

We will be doing more and more over the next few weeks to get the seedlings transplanted outside. This will then free up our greenhouse again for more seedling germination
