I love that watch!
I tried making a fire with hand gel yesterday. Didn't work. I'm crap at setting fire to stuff. I'm the worst pyromaniac ever.
I enjoyed carrying my knife yesterday. Used it for a couple of small tasks but I could have done without it. Maybe the more I carry it the more I'll find uses. Everyone on YouTube seem to be adamant that everyone should be carrying one. I think I've been totally deskilled.
I think it depends what you do, like today I opened a bunch laptop boxes with my Gerber. I'd say I use it everyday, mostly for opening up packages, but also for cutting loose threads and basic food stuff. If I've not had time to make lunch the night before I might stop in Lidl and buy a couple of rolls, cooked meat, and some coleslaw and make myself a sandwich in the car, as I find supermarket and petrol station sandwiches are fairly tasteless.

The reason I like it is that it has two VITAL features - a removable battery and it has expandable memory. Most phones don't have this anymore and so this has become an essential criteria. These phones are now cheaply purchased from eBay or Amazon or wherever. I got a 64GB card that works flawlessly for £9 and a spare battery that I keep in my wallet for £3.99. I bought a solid two part case for about a year ago and has protected it really well from my abuse. And now you can get Otterboxes and things like that for it on the cheap since it's an old model. Chargers cost about a quid each so I've got them everywhere.
When considering EDC, I always think
Keys, Wallet, Phone. And the
phone is probably the most important gadget of all, especially since you can now use them like a credit card.
Yes i have the same phone as well and it does have the Otterbox Defender as a case and and Ultimate sheild to protect the screen and in the year i have had it she has been bomb proof, nightmare to root i have to say, only method that worked for me was "Purple Drake" and i'm still on KitKat i think, Otterbox is amazing it's big and bulky but save my phone at least half a dozen times so worth it's weight in gold, only downside to the phone IMO is crap camera, like you i NEEDED removable battery and it has expandable memory and it works fine with my Samsung 64GB card

I have an Eton G3 Globle Traveler and SW wire antenna in my Bob, but that lives in the boot of my car.
My Icom E90, Yaesu VX6 and Uniden Scanners all do FM/AM but the Eton will go lower and has SSB.
Can i ask what you expect to pick up from these nowadays, given most comms have gone Tetra route? I know in London i'm wondering if it's worth hanging on to my scanner an more, i get what SSB has to offer, but unsure what you will pick up on the lower side of things and also how low is low to pick up intresting info in a SHTF situation?

On the Eton radio, I get a lot of Ham stuff, but mostly you can pick up Korean, Chinese, Russian and other broadcasts from around the world and know what going on. Lots of counties have English language SW stations.
With the Uniden scanner, it's mostly used for close call which automatically tunes into anyone broadcasting near your location. Its also quite nice when paired with software like PDW Paging Decoder, you can decode pagers which are still used within the emergency services. You can decode DMR with a cheap tv tuner SDR, same goes for pagers, but I tend to prefer doing with a real scanner as it draws less power and those TV dongs run molten hot after 15 minutes.
The Icom and Yaesu are mostly used for their intended purpose which is comms, whether that be with a 2m/70cm whip antenna or a arrow antenna to work satellites.
